Two of my accounts banned for ''your account may be compromised''

hi i had a seccond account fresh only played on it for 10days i use vpn like most people do i suddenly got banned while i was giving rank to players in my guild following the email that said Recent activity shows your account may be compromised. We disabled this account to protect your privacy and prevent further damage while i only logged in from 1 device which was my pc the whole time next ticket i opened was answered in 5seccond and the answer had no explaining like what a bot would say to 1million random victoms only saying it was taken to address a violation of the Terms of Use and End User License Agreement and closing and deleting any other ticket in the same topic so i was thinking how can i trust this game with my time and money if i dont know what i did wrong or they can just ban me for doing nothing so i tried to talk to a gm in live chat trying to get information about this and he said any detail about these banns are unreachable !! but it prbbly was because of ip changes cause by using vpn and account not being secure enough so i asked what if i put authenticator and only connect to 1ip every full day and he was like it shouldnt be a problem we never ban for such reasons so i paid for another account bought it lvl 50 spend my time leveling up upto 56 and closed the game to go eat i come back it says your account is banned for the same reason i wanted to cry so bad the company i trusted the most in the game industry has became my nightmare all of my friends are sceared so much that they wont dare to open the game we deserve an explaination atleast i just wanna be heard and not be answered by bots just tell me what violation how can we spend a second here in this game knowing this can all be removed from existance any time you get up to go eat with no explaination

hi
u dont get any specific reason for ban ?
because many people use vpn to protect their info on their pc ( bank account , passwords ,etc , nowdays its very common and suggested by security expert to use vpn )
and if the process of tickets is so , what if everyone else get ban and lose all achievements and progress without any answer ? :frowning:
its very scary ,regarding u claim that u didnt violate any terms

Only if you are on an insecure network (open WiFi f.e.), otherwise it may even be considered a risk.

Anyways, OP, try using paragraphs and punctuation. It is rather difficult to follow. It goes from ‘locked to secure your privacy’ to ‘violation of the EULA’…which one is it :stuck_out_tongue: ?

Make another ticket (and don’t use some self-service function), that should stay open and they should be able to help you.

And remove your email, it’s half your login info. Magiola’s post above is correct on how to handle this.

as they said Any further requests on this topic will not be reviewed. they cancele and remove any ticket that has mention of my emails in it

the amount of ads in youtube and news about malware and stuff XD , i think they suggest use it all the time to protect bank account , college id , login info and stuff … idk XD just sayin

my account is locked i cant make ticket with the same account
and when i post appeal i get this : "An additional review of the action has been completed. We have confirmed our initial findings, and the action will not be reversed or changed. "
and when i make ticket with another account i get the reply to sumbit ticket with the same account
im very confused , i came to forums as a last resort , im a huge mmorpg fan / gamer , and i really want to progress this patch , all i want to know is the reason of the ban which i cant get

“Most” people certainly do not use VPN. VPNs should not be used unless there is a good reason and you actually know why and how to use them or are instructed to do so (eg. to connect your work enviroment from home).

From the info you provided I guess following:

  • You use a random VPN without knowing why or exact details of the VPN.
  • Blizzard sees you logging from multiple different IPs from the VPN which might be detected coming from entirely different networks. You might also have logged in from your own IP if at any point the VPN was not active.
  • Blizzard’s systems determine that the account is compromised because of the multiple different IPs and VPNs used.
  • You attempt to recover the account. Blizzard cannot confirm that you are actually the legitimate owner (or if account even had one in the first place).
  • Blizzard closes the account as “permamently compromised”.

Don’t use VPNs unless you actually know WHY and HOW to use them. At worst some random VPN makes you far more suspectible to tracking, malware etc. as essentially you are trusting EVERYTHING to the VPN provider.

The above applies only if what you said is true and the ban was not for some other reason you are hiding.

edit: fixed some typos.

is it ok to use good one? ( for example if the network is shared in whole building)
good one like the ip dosent change random and its paid service like those in the ads

I personally have never seen a valid need to game over a VPN, unless of course, you are trying to hide your identity from the gaming company for nefarious reasons.

im not an expert in security ,for gaming i dont know , but for example when u wanna buy something online and use online money services its always better to take caution as far as i googled and stuff ,they say it makes the process more safe

How is passing your data through someone elses servers “more safe”?

Advertising says that. Truth is far from that. Yes, there are VPNs considered secure. For General use you don’t need VPN unless you don’t trust your local ISP or have governmental censorship (and that obviously brings it’s own hazards so in those case you REALLY need to know what you are doing).

There are valid reasons for using VPN like said in the earlier: for almost everyone there is no need for them.

VPN just hides traffic from your own ISP and move that burden to the VPN provider. Your ISP will not see you visiting Site A, B and C but instead will just see you using the VPN. Meanwhile the VPN provider will see that you have visited Site A, B and C.

VPN can also filter the traffic and malicious VPNs can hijack your traffic.

Thank you so much for you good info

yeah it seems i was thinking wrong

Its not your fault m8. A lot of companies, especially antivirus companies with a vested interest, hype up the benefits of VPN’s in order to sell them.

The benefits are very case specific, and 99% of the world don’t need one.

I don’t and using a VPN is against the rules you agree to and the major reason to use it is to bypass restrictions from things like the country you are actually living in being banned from using a service, like Iran has sanctions against it.

You agree not to allow anything to intercept your data between your computer and the Blizzard servers. You agree to that.

I know most people just click agree but a quick skim though would have helped you choose not to use a VPN.

Hi there Akbargoje,

We’re not able to assist with appeals via the Customer Support forums. A ticket must be opened to appeal these actions.

Closing this here.
