Twohanded Hammers and Axes

Hello, i would like address something really visually important in the game. I 've been playing wow for a million years. What i don’t understand is why are the Twohanded hammers and axes upside down then u sheath them on your character.
In most games or even movies. the hilt of the weapon faces the floor. In wow it’s the opposite, also the 1handed version. I think axes and maces act like swords. I strongly believe that if they were the other way around, ( hilt facing floor) people would transmog their weapons into axes or hammers more. At the moment, even a cool axe/mace looks really hideous when u sheath it.
Take for example the dark iron dwarf 2handed mace called [Lavaforge Monolith], how cool is that? it acts as a staff and it sheaths in the correct position, always in my opinion. I am really curious what is your opinion too.
Thanx everyone for your time reading my thoughts :D. have a nice one!!

To me all weapons look nice but this. I would like to use it on my dark iron dwarf, but the handle of that weapon is about dwarf size too long. It looks silly how it sits on hands, and handle clips through floor. Maby it would look better if 2h mace version had shorter handle.

As someone who spent enough time on TV Tropes I can tell you that reality is unrealistic, Roman statues were painted, Vikings didn’t have horned helmets, most penguin species live in warmer climates, lobsters only turn red after you cook them and coconut seeds grow inside fruits and not just like that huskless on the tree.

Sometimes media portrays things in a way that looks believable to most people, even if it’s not realistic.

If you think of any weapon you want to be able to wield it quickly when needed so having easy access to the hilt makes sense maybe. I have no idea what is actually accurate. On the other hand if you think of modern warfare, weapons are carried whatever way is most practical.

In a fantasy setting I don’t think it matters if something is realistic. Just whatever is aesthetically pleasing.

the weight of those weapons are in the head
the hilt is light hence why the head of those weapons face the floor

test it yourself, grab your own hammer irl and drop it, it will go head first
same for an Axe

some Swords are as balanced as the hilt, like short swords

aesthetics have always been important to me, so i couldn’t agree more, axes and maces have never been carried like that, you’d cripple your knees running before you even saw battle.

maces and axes sit in a metal ring so with one movement you grasp the haft at the dangerous end and let it slide through your hand in an upward motion, it would otherwise have to be clipped to the haft which would be much slower. never mind the discomfort of it smashing into your legs
shield maiden for life.
bah warcraft weapons anyway, given up asking them to scale them properly let alone make them work right, especially for human females, how are you supposed to even swing a weapon when the hilt is a log…-.-
