TWW - Arachnophobia Mode

Please stop talking, you’ve got not idea what you’re on about.

They’re called Surimirians now.

How will this work with those riding Spider mounts around those with Arachnophobia?

This is an excellent addition. Personally I’m one of those weird people who love spiders, but I’m glad arachnophobes won’t have to see them.

I was wonder how ago happened in WotLK’s release 2008.
Players avoid play WotLK when heard this had many spiders?

The spiders in WotLK where…manageable to a certain extend, as long as there weren’t too many of them on the screen at any given time. Certain situations for me personally required me to angle the camera in such a way that I either didn’t see everything or nothing at all. Really fun in some dungeons…

With the latest details that Blizzard uses, some areas in the game require me to go really slow to get used to seeing them on the screen. It’s still not as bad as having to deal with a real spider, but it’s very…very…unpleasant.

Well i dont need to relate/or agree with your phobia, its still a game u know simple.

I think they are trying to explain that it doesn’t make any difference if it’s not real or if it’s on the TV, the fear remains the same

Irrational fears aren’t logical. Like being claustrophic for example.

I really don’t understand why people have to be obnoxious about a QoL improvement for a minority.

It’s as if giving this mode to those players is somehow a bad thing. It does not lessen anyone else’s experience.

And you aren’t forced to use this mode, so where is the problem?

I would’ve preferred they turn into little whelps but crabs will do.

bit odd to make a thread for every new wowhead acticle…

but cool option for those afflicted with spider fear :spider:

I mean on the one hand if you fight for survival nobody asks if you are afraid or not. On the other hand this is a game so someone should be able to enjoy it.

I shall chase them down with my Widowfang. :supervillain:

I do.
Because they’re sad little creatures that only get off from online attention they get.
Truly wish you could block people on these forums so you don’t have to read their drivel.
Problem would solve itself once their attention goals are removed.

This is one of the single most stupid things added to the game ever. Are people so stupid that they can’t handle a pixelated spider? Are the WoW devs so careless about their story and lore that they would turn like half of the Nerubian empire into crabs??

If you’re doing this for spiders, you better be ready to do it for anything that anyone has an irrational fear of, because once you start doing stuff like this, there’s really no end to it…

And by the way, crabs are basically just spiders that live in the sea/around water. They are very closely related in terms of genetics, physiology and structure. Imagine how many people would eat crab meat but would shudder at the thought of eating a spider…

It does not affect you in any way, shape or form. Adding this extra has not cost you story, tier, dungeons, battleground, cosmetics etc.

I really don’t understand reactions like this. Do you feel the same about colour blind mode or any other accessibility setting or is it just a fear of spiders that particularly offends you?

imagine being this stupid and not understanding how phobias work.

I don’t understand why this is bothering you so much? Just don’t turn the option on and your game is completely unaffected by this feature.

Considering that your characters entire appearance is transmogrified to look like something else than what your character is actually wearing - complaining about someone opting to see crabs instead of spiders is really hypocritical.
