How is it any different to the first explanation. I’m genuinely confused?
You land and switch, toggle etc.
I don’t open my mount tab to use mounts, this is no different IMO. You just drag that to your UI or shortcutting it/macro-ing it.

Currently we have the option to use both without any kind of toggle and can change to static mid air (very useful). With this change we have to land, cast a 5 second spell, then use flight form again, just to for instance do a simple pick up x amount of items WQ (looting mid air in general), fly a short distance, fly precisely or when being lazy / using autofly. Plus we have to toggle back just to skyride away.
I’d say i use both around the same amount if not flight form more often. So it’s objectively less quality of life as they are reducing our current options and making it more cumbersome.
Having the option to split them up would give us more options and the ability to toggle flight form separately would keep the same system as now with the added choice of instant dynamic flight form if you so wish.
Alpha right now has neither of these and the trade-off of instant flight form really isnt worth it. It’s a direct downgrade and removal of convenience which is why most druids dislike the change.
tldr: In the current iteration it removes a bunch of utility in exchange for instant dynamic flight form but the trade-off is not worth how burdensome doing the old things would become. Hence it’s a negative change.

Ok did not realize you could drag it to your toolbar.
I wish they introduced separated spell for dynamic flight form.
I use Flightform with combo of Dragonriding mount for dynamic stops/lands or hover over location i want to be at without landing.

Unfortunately it’s gated behind pathfinder. All my mounts DR in Alpha and I can’t change them.
I just know it’ll take me months to train my unicorn to get into and out of his dragon costume just to fly.
He’s already in one costume, he won’t be a happy unicorn!!

If this is still active on release then druids will be able to do this on the fly. You don’t need to land to cast flight form with instant cast. Unless they add a cast time which makes the form redundant.
they should add a new flight form button. i want to keep my normal flight form and use df on my other mounts so i can shift mid flight.
i bet you won’t be able to do it in tww. its probably all or nothing

The swapover is a cast, but it’s also gated behind pathfinder. No slow flap (or what they call tbc flying) until we do the achievement.
Yeah I gathered as much from the preview video the other day. I was wondering how they’d [redacted] us this time around since “skyriding” and flying would be available from day 1 and they’ve always wanted to stunt our flying from the get-go somehow… of course we won’t be able to fly (in the new zones) again, like in Duckflight… probably take just as long to get it enabled this time too.
I’m on Alpha atm and some of the mounts are comical when DR. Not a single mount is non DR on the test so I’m doing a little flying and then running around on the ground.

Since you’re able to provide feedback and I don’t imagine you’ll lose access at any point, please request that Steady Flight be available sooner rather than later in TWW content during each phase. I know they tend to disregard most useful feedback anyway, but at least someone will have given it then
