Sure ask for more options to turn your VE into a HE. Asking them to add the 5th elf race that is identical to the other 2 comes at the cost of adding a race that we actually don’t have 5000 copies of.
(Wanted to answer both in the same place because no need to continuue this pointless arguement when you people refuse to read what i wrote and just fight an arguement yourselves)
My one and only point in this argument was,
for some reason someone trying to explain me how it is bad to go for compelete franchise change when i wasnt even talking about anything about that,
while other keep claiming i want high elves even though i never cared for that and pretty happy with void elves (even tough i play horde only i find the customisation options for VE pretty fine)
so keep arguing between yourselves without listening to others, im taking my leave out of this topic.
I get your point but lore can expand, grow and change. I’ve suggested before that all races can have a quest chain in which they are told about a great threat and we need to learn other ways to have every chance of defeating said threat. Something along those lines anyway. I don’t think that one day you log on and every race can play any class without explanation. Essentially, this way each race can learn the ways of that class, like “Ways of the Warrior, Ways of the Druid, Ways of the Monk etc”. Or the other way around, the Illidari, for example, need to expand their ways to other races. This could be something like “Ways of the Illidari, Ways of the Gnome, Ways of the Dracthyr” etc.
And also, how much does lore really matter in modern WoW? We’ve had space travel/ships, different timelines etc. Granted, that may be in some book or something from 20 years ago, but I guess most WoW players have never read books about the game.
Take for example the latest news about TWW, where there will be an arachnophobia mode. Is that part of lore or is it Blizzard giving part of the community what they want?
Do I like playing a DH? 100%
Do I like playing a Blood Elf? Absolutely not
Do I like playing a Goblin? 100%
So my personal gameplay is somewhat of a torn experience. I have to play the class I enjoy most as that is direct interaction and race is only a visual aspect but it annoys me every day. On the flip side, someone with your viewpoint of not wanting this change, is your game really going to be impacted greatly by this? Are you going to be conflicted every time you have to select your main character on the character select screen? I would guess not, which is why I said “If you don’t like a class/race combo, don’t play it”.
Did Goblin work for Ilidan as Ilidari demon hunter ? No
I m sorry sir but truth must be say :
Like playing elf or goblin = ok
Like playing demon hunter = ok
Goblin demon hunter? = you have absolutely no sense of good taste.
You re the same kind of player who want gnome druid with meca morph or else.
People like you ruin the game
there is absolutely no dimension where its ok for a goblin to be a demonhunter.
Demonhunter are for Nigh elve then after, with lore also blood elve because both of them worked for illidan
In which world a goblin is a ilidari ? or even interested by fighting demon with become half demon with horns and glaives
Votes will lead to fights within the community. The set bonus vote was a disaster i don’t want to see again.
But Blizzard could at least try to take community feedback on these features.
Adding races no one asked for is frustrating when the community clamors for races they wish to have.
My pet peeve are the Sethrak. Such an amazing race with a unique look and animations. It would make the perfect allied race since both factions befriended them. But instead… we are going for human/troll cross or another dwarf variant? I am a fan of dwaves, but why not actually bring something the game doesn’t have as a playable race? Sethrak would be welcome by the whole community.
I also dislike the mantra that everything to be added must conform to the theme of the expansion, which is a really limiting self imposed rule.
So you still happily play a ruined game?
Because just with the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, the following were made available:
- Draenei Rogue;
- Highmountain Tauren Mage;
- Highmountain Tauren Priest;
- Highmountain Tauren Rogue;
- Lightforged Draenei Rogue;
- Orc Priest;
- Tauren Mage;
- Tauren Rogue.
Does this actually impact you or your gameplay in any way at all? I’ll go out on a limb and say that whilst in-game, it never or very rarely crosses your mind. Me on the other hand, as I said, am conflicted every day I log on.
It could be argued that players like you, playing since at least 2009 are the ones holding back the game, which is something many commentators remark about Blizzard’s battle between keeping older players happy but also trying to attract new ones.
you re talking about classe which are like job in real life or easily to teach to others.
Can someone explain to Sowee that a goblin demonhunter is impossible because goblin race are to small, weak, unable to wear glaives, survive to the demon ritual to become a demonhunter.
Did you read your first quest as a DH?
Tauren Rogue
Kekw, i ll just say grimtotem clan.
I ll say you why do you want goblin DH, player like you like to see a serious game well done with lore and stuff turning into a LOL game making fun with everything, creating a orc male warrior with blue hair and lipstick and fighting with a pink dress.
You want goblin DH not “for the horde” but for the LOL and you will rename Sowee to “SatanGremlin” for more LOL again.
if you want to make fun and LOL with goblin i ll recommand that thing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf5-7L7XANw
very funny
You need to understand that its not because you want to see a goblin demonhunter that other players want it too.
Imagine people who chose demonhunter for the lore, the badass look etc and tomorrow they ll see gremlins DH front of them.
Maybe they ll not appreciate.
It’s a game that is programmable. Anything is possible.
Yet Goblins can wear plate armour, dual-wield swords, wield two-handed swords/axes etc. And survive the ritual to become a DH? How about all the things related to being a Warlock? Your point makes literally zero substantial sense.
To be clear, I’m not just saying Goblin DH’s. I’m saying every class for every race as I don’t think there needs to be a restriction like this in modern wow, where the arguement of lore falls off each time a new patch is released. But why I want that combo specifically is because after playing many classes, I’ve settled to enjoying DH the most. I also like Shaman, but they can’t tank. And I like the concept of Goblin, I like their style, I like their voice, basically there is nothing I don’t like about them.
And yes, I want a balanced game. I want it to be serious at times, emotional at times and God forbid, yes, even fun at times. If someone wants to be an orc male warrior with blue hair and lipstick and fighting with a pink dress then let them, who does it harm? It’s just a game.
I could also just requote what i said. But this will just go in circles. It seems it was lost on you but thats fine. I just found the irony amusing.
The option to make a Velf or a Belf look like a Helf exists. Alliance would be a better fit.
If they do add more races, something we dont already have would be far more welcome.
Back to the topic at hand I dont think polls would work. How would they even choose the races. It could end up being a rather long list. Most of the playerbase dont bother to take part in the vote. A chunk that do like to troll.
the famous argument “who does it harm” → “then we can add every dumb/fun things that everyone can imagine and do whatsoever”
With your argument we can immediately add tomorrow the hero class “hello kitty” because “who does it harm? if you dont want to play hello kitty in wow just play other class”
A goblin cant become a demonhunter simply because this weak race can’t survive to the ritual to become a DH.
Simply.
its too late to fight this unfortunately. The game was dumbed down already. We literally have lightforged warlocks for example so yeah Goblin demon hunters are just same level absurdity and it has to happen eventually. People cheered and people will cheer.
Waste of time to even argue about it. Most people are empty and have no taste… Not to mention blizzard is NA company. They have no idea what diversity and identity means and it reflects on the game pretty well
I think some people will never care about lore. They just want to play the game.
Others will always care about the lore.
And there are probably some in between.
Yeah. And then they went ahead and added Earthen Dwarves (3rd dwarf race) that genuinely no one asked for, while High elves are being requested for the last decade +.
And on adding races that fit the theme of the expansion, don’t even go there. They dedicated an entire zone to Gnolls, Furbolgs and Tuskarr and gave them new models in DF, only for NONE of them to make it as a new race, despite all 3 being requested in the forums. Especially Gnolls and Furbolgs.
where my tuskarr at?
It’s more how you phrased things.
When you said “give all classes to all races, if you don’t like it deal with it” it doesn’t exactly bode well.
When you say
I’m like ok cool for sure. Sorry I don’t know who has what history in the forums. Blizzard can do absolutely whatever they want and justify every lore/gameplay action in whatever way they feel like it. But at least give us a logical explanation. Not just we login one reset and all of a sudden the world is flooded with gnome DH.
If the Legion threat becomes relevant again, or somehow demons are part of the lore, then for sure they could have an awesome quest chain. The Illidari can very much open their doors to other races… I can actually see Draenei and HM Tauren relating to this. We’ve already had the fel corrupted Eredar becoming renegades and joining the playable Draenei (even if the quest was real weak)… We could have the same with the Fel Totem tribe wishing to make up for their past errors. The quest then explores how these races kind of feel like shunned freaks, but because they’re attuned to the fel the Illidari manage to recruit/convert them or something like that.
That’s cool. Maybe they can expand that other races somehow… As long as it makes sense somehow.
I don’t want to be some sort of conservative person who wants to preserve the sanctity of the lore or some nonsense like that. That ship sailed long ago and sunk deeper than the titanic with all the Shadowlands/Jailer/afterlife nonsense.
That’s a bit different though, this is a purely mechanical thing to help a minority of people who quite literally wouldn’t be able to play the game otherwise. I was unaware of how debilitating arachnophobia can be for some people, they literally avoid all fantasy games with spiders in them.
Class/race combos are much more intertwined with the lore.
Let me give a slightly different example where mechanical/game play choices have to be different to the lore in order for things to make sense.
Resurrection
In the lore, it’s meant to be one of the hardest, nearly impossible to cast spell, regardless of what affinity/source of magic one has. In game, that would be a freaking nightmare. So yeah we can all agree that for enjoyment of gameplay in a purely mechanistic way, “rezing” is just a simple button.
Yes please, we have enough gelflings, now we need skeksis!
I think they’d be quite fun. Specially the Tauren
I didnt ask for them.
But they do bring something new to the table.
Theyre cosmetically very unique with gems, metal hair, rock bodies, theyve been scaled to a size between human and dwarf which is something this game doesnt have yet.
I think i might end up race changing to one when theyre out.
I didnt think to ask for void elves and i loved them.
I didnt think to ask for earthen and i love them.
Its not a bad thing to get stuff you didnt even consider if it turns out well.
It’s good you like them but I don’t unfortunately xD never mained dwarf or DID either before, im not happy with general dwarf animations/movements
My complain is that they look less earthen even with super-duper modern graphich than the model we had in Wotlk and Cata…
