TWW's soundtrack is a masterpiece

In case you don’t know, the music has been posted on Wowhead’s YouTube channel a few days ago. Dozens of tracks.

The Khaz Algar and Earthen music is great, and I love the inn and tavern music. Proper D&D vibes.

However, what stands out the most to me is the music from Hallowfall, themed around the Arathi. For example the Hallowfall zone music, and the “Airship” song. There’s just something so good about it. It encapsulates a few things: time, wind, and the Light.

That’s what the Arathi are all about, as far as I know. They come from an “Empire of the Light” beyond the storming seas (although originally, they are from the Eastern Kingdoms, of course), and there’s definitely some time-shenanigans going on. Either with the event that transported them to Hallowfall from the storming seas above, or because of their situation of being stuck in there for years, likely racing against time, etc.

Go and have a listen!

Do we know the OST from the most recent shadows beneath cinematic?

The art department has always carried this game, up to this day.

Lemme look it up.

Edit: As it seems, that track is either not uploaded yet or is not a singular theme.

But I really hope this is a general battle theme for this expansion.

The War Within OST - Warcraft Battle

Edit 2: It seems Blizzard is really leaning more into the action themes as I wished they would do.

Have a listen at this. The Arathi Combat Light theme reminds me somehow a lot of the Panems Capitol Hymn “Horn of Plenty”

Edit 3: Idk if this was the case in the past with Raid boss themes, but if not… FINALLY we have music that evolves over time, getting more intense. I really like how all the different layers come together in the end of the Queens theme.

We need to give David Arkenstone a shoutout and a toast for his fantastic inn/tavern music over the years. Just always pure quality from that gentleman.

In that case TWW has a problem because the art department certainly isn’t carrying it.

But the music department might - I’ll take a listen later.

That remains a matter of taste.

I find every transmog from TWW miles more interesting that DF ones.

I like the DF ones but I’m mostly talking about the execution in terms of zone lighting and style. I haven’t really paid much attention to the mogs yet.

I didn’t check out any new zones yet in the Beta. I don’t want to be spoiled. But from what I’ve seen from promo material, it looks more in line with Warcraft than DF did.

I definitely have so far only good opinions about the upcoming expansion. The Music is a blast, the mogs are good and the zones so far look dope.

Imagine if they hired Danny Elfman to do a few tunes… :stuck_out_tongue:

Did not bother to check out the new zones on Beta. Wanna see them in full once it hits live, as no amount of feedback or complaining anywhere will change anything related to the zones. I was mainly referring to the music, so yeah agree there.

The zones haven’t felt like they revolutionized anything since Vanilla.

Don’t even get me started on Blizz’s track record of horrible gear sets. Has to be the worst game in MMO history in terms of bland and ugly gear pieces. And there are how many 1000’s of different “looks” released to date?
Newest Hunter set is garbage at least.

I played through some of the leveling zones on beta yesterday, and I agree. The music is amazing!

I forced myself to stop playing because everything felt so good. The pacing is great (quests aren’t so long and grindy as in the past), the campaign quests have a good amount of voice acting, and I also really liked how the delves and dungeons are integrated with the campaign quest. The delve didn’t even have a loading screen - the gameplay seamlessly transitioned from open-world questing into the delve, which was a cool little feature.
