Tyrande-Shandris conversation

Confirmation that Elune let the night elves die

Where are they standing?

In heart of the forest, from what I can see. I assume you’d have to be night fae to witness the conversation? Not sure tho.

Or at least that Shandris and Tyrande interpreted it that way. So seems like everyone’s kneejerk reaction, including mine, was right on that one, and trying to make Elune’s comments about just sending the souls to Ardenweald directly doesn’t have much backing.

It has more backing than assuming that she just left them to burn knowingly.

At best, this dialogue proves that neither Tyrande nor Shandris know why the goddess didn’t intervene sooner because they somehow think that she could’ve.

People somehow construing this dialogue into “Shandris is somehow omniscient and knows for a fact that Elune actually could have stopped the burning of Teldrassil” is way more far-fetched and lacking on actual backing than “Elune didn’t know about the burning, but then tried to aid them to her best capacity, while also aiming at fixing an issue her sister had”.

But to quote someone that explained it rather simply:

Elune says “in the wake of tragedy.”

As in, the tragedy happened and she tried to do something in its wake.

She did not cause the burning. She did not allow the burning. It simply happened - and she reacted in its wake. She isn’t a Bronze Dragon with time magic. Once the catapults were let loose, and the Priestess began praying in earnest, Elune could not simply reverse the tragedy. She could only react in its wake.

Don’t worry, no one expected you to acknowledge a point so soon after you argued against it.

What point is there to acknowledge?

That somehow Elune must have took an active sort effort in overlooking of said event, when she downright acknowledges in her cinematic that she could only react after it had happened?

Like really, people are trying way to much to spin it all under the NE victimhood carpet.

Lore is certainly crap nowadays, but some people simply insist on trying to interpret every bit of it in the worst way.

If that gives some kind of solace, weird, but have it that way if you want. :man_shrugging:

Imagine to be as such a pathetic race, as to relay on freaking goddess to save them from their troubles. And then become salty when she does not.
