Do you know why in the undead it is seen as negative or reluctant because it allows the undead to live, members of other races must die. Because the undead are just that: Undeath! The Forsaken were dying, they needed new supplies. Do you really think Sylvanas would only revive the troops that she has now and again? Forget it.
Not the energy (though that which is done to the soul and the event itself is called traumatic) is the real terror, but the fact that the undead are growing at the expense of other peoples, so that they must thrive in other peoples.
Why exactly should you want that as a non-undead?
