Ugly Shadow Priest Shadowform

I can’t be the only one who thinks this.

The current Shadowform visual is unbearable for me whose main is a Shadow Priest. I really love the class’ gameplay and it’s lore and I obviously like this specific race that fits the class fantasy, but I survived BfA’s version of Shadowform and I would literally pay if Blizzard could give us an option to choose between past and present Shadowforms.

I’m sure there are people who like the old “less voidy” classic form that was in-game til patch 7.3 in Legion that introduced a new version alongside the new animations. It was personally my favorite one, a simple Void infused priest look.

What we currently have is terrible. I don’t expect it to be changed just because of me (if it’s the case that I’m the only one whining about it), but I’d like us to have some options.

I can suggest Glyphs, but there should be 6 glyphs total then to fit all Shadowform versions we had/have. “Glyph of Shadow” reduces the effects and changes the visuals a bit, that’s why I said 6 versions instead of 3. All of the versions are in-game already so there is literally nothing new for devs to make. Existing stuff can be easily implemented (I guess).

Also, another reason why I liked the 7.3 Shadowform is because Tmog was like WAY more visible. I just loved it.

Here is a video showing it

The Legion Latexform was some of the worst “revamps” i have ever seen on wow or any other game, When you wear a robe and look at the texture you’ll know why we hated it, it looked good with pants or shorts but with robes… nope. that glyph(of shadow?) made it bearable but it was not transparent anymore ?

The glyph with the new shadowform pretty much turns you into a lava lamp, and its even uglier than legion.
I’m with you on the last suggestion, all we need is choices, getting stuck with one default “updated” version just sucks… and on top they don’t even test them on glyphs.

Just give us choices, i was fine with my Cata, Mop, Wod shadowform :sob:

I also don’t understand how people enjoy their character to look like with that shadow thing all the time, it completely makes the character barely visible and it just looks like all the same for all shadow priests.

current shadowform looks like shadow …

I miss the original shadowform personally. Not liked any of the forms we had after. Talking TBC shadowform.

Almost the same as druid’s Astral Form, but at least the actual shape of your character is visual… You just get no colour, and some effects disappear(like the tip of my scythe… which turns into this puny little thing when I wear the red version).

I rerolled from druid into dk in wotlk because I hated the owl form… if there been astral form from the very start there would have ever been Az and her dk mania.

I hated the fact that I was super high end no life player and all I had was a same look for every tier. the ugliest of ugly owl.

That astral form is not that bad, really. It also is good way to show you ate not in bonus damage form.

Transparency is what gave the feels of shadow imo, transparency is what shadow needs now, you need to squint to see through the current one.

And to Mirlin, that is the point why shadow priests loved it, it was a dimmed shadowy version of you character, dark and gave a sinister look same way any other class would enjoy their cat form, moonkin form, demonform or whatever it is.

I’ll go back to what i said first, a little more variety/choices never hurts, give us glyphs and call it a day.

I have to be honest now, my favorite ‘shadow’ was that glyph that reduced the amount of shadow and made you closer to ‘normal’- both my priests - dwarven lady and an elf walk out of form always outside combat. It wasn’t always like this. I just like to see their visuals and looks, but form itself always has been a bit of a …

I wish they’d have more of a tentacle or … aura feel rather than one big black mass. if this makes any sense. And tentacles are cool. i like tentacles though.

I made my 1st shadow lady in vanilla. So she is always deep in my heart! My little dwarven girl.

I really wouldn’t mind if they made the current voidform look the new shadowform at all. And yeah I liked that glyph too, sometimes i used it for transmog but never touched it after legion, it was odd looking and now its even 10x worse :joy:

I have always been pro options. Things are on files and in-game, why not just let players have their fantasy and preferences. Blizz is rich and pro enough to allow us that.

I think they do that to prevent ww3 :man_shrugging:t4:

Send in the drones. :airplane:

Dont beat the dead horse. Blizzard obviously doesnt care about Glyphs. We´ve been trying to get new Shadowforms and Nonblue Moonkin-Form for almost a decade now. They dont care about Visuals, only the Gameplayloop that keeps you paying.

Interesting point of criticism the week before we get nerfed to being useless in all content. Guess we can do WQs relatively good still…

But no I dont agree. We look good inside voidform.

Well, I said it was personally my favorite one because it felt “voidy” the most to me and tmog was more visible than the “lava lamp” (I can’t agree more) we currently have, but hey, I believe there are also people who like the current one, too. The oldest one felt more like a real Shadow. I can imagine playing Undead (which is cringy to me right now since I can’t really connect Void and Forsaken look anymore). I just need choices.

I dont mind shadow form~ you dont have to worry about clipping and ugly velf passive because all you see is edgy version of yourself.

What I hate is Void Form…from gameplay to appearance - its terrible.

A prime opportunity for glyphs IMO.

I wish they will allow to hide the visuals of shadowform. It made me to play discipline instead.

I don’t even have a Spriest atm, but I utterly despise it.

I want the appearance from Vanilla back. I don’t care if it’s a glyph, just let me skip the current big ball of fluffy void.
