You can see its not just players on forums disapointed with UH. Some things pointed out in the article are just hysterical.
I mean the class was literaly neglected for 8+ years. I guess let it rot is part of class fantasy.
Its sad and that was written just from PVE standpoint. I assure You, in PVP its even more frustrating

I always like to say that the brain dead rotation is part of the fantasy.
I’ve had my share of frustrations with the class writers, but this time I’m on full agreement with this assessment. I’d go as far as to say that he’s actually really lenient.
This class has been in the gutter for so long, and the few seasons we dominated the meters was mostly out of tunning going completely wrong with haste over buffing us.
Gameplay is clunky.
Visual are super dated.
Hero specs are a joke.
Death Knight? More like dead knight.

What frustrate me the most with that guide is how he’s so focused on the numbers over the actual design of UH DK, like for instance when he mentions gargoyle, instead of suggesting like hey maybe put it where UA is and bake them together so we don’t have gargoyles current degenerate design and UA stupid melee CD to buff us, but no, instead maybe buff Gargoyle by 100% that would for sure make all of us happy and fix UH DK

I hope we never see Gargoyle in that iteration ever again. Even if it’s buffed.
The bloody RNG on this ability was rediculous. And it was bugged because of the haste scaling.

It’s a good feedback article, I wouldn’t agree with all of it but it hits good points overall. Sad part is, there has been many attempts to provide constructive feedback over a decade, none was listened to.
Weird and even worse is that these devs only care about active play time metric, even at
the cost of user base plumeting. And even when the play time metrics are bad, they still think linear.
I think Blizzard even before the acquistion has become the company where employees are just milking, but now, the salary farming there is all time peak. I don’t think anyone does any meaningful work there, especially not for wow pvp.

The thing with set pieces is that they can only be as interesting as the baseline spec.
If the baseline isn’t very good to begin with, we’re automatically very limited with the tier set bonuses. I don’t think the tier set is that bad. It works. But it sure as hell isn’t interesting or impactful with our rotation or talents.

for me there are major changes to redisgn
deathcoil (for pve) should hit 3 targets (with a talent), for dungeons with 3/4 targets, the dk uh is not good.
They should remove the gcd of the abomination, abominable member, and the grip
abominable member shouldn’t do damage (I find it stupid to throw him in a dps rotation, when he should be there for specific moments)
I hate the abomination (on some fights it runs and does not hit), I would like to see the gargoyle/valkyr again
we need instant damage (or a spell to do with a coldown), since legion this is not the case (but understandable because the gameplay of the classes was generally simpler than today)
But it creates a problem, especially in pvp
I’m going to oldboomer nostalgia, but the gameplay of mop’s dk uh was for me the best, and by far (in wod the uh gameplay was very good too, it was the same, just bad in pvp because no dmg and necrotic strike)
don’t forget that before we had basic gcd at 1sec, the stances, the rune system (which I found was much better than the festering wounds), the baseline pvp talents (dark simulacrum…)

oof. Seems my rant about Gargoyle came true, well almost. If you guys go to Death Knight Feedback on the PTR forum and give your take on this, it might help change Blizzards mind about buffing Gargoyle to be better than Doomed Bidding. They have nerfed the duration of the Maguses from Doomed Bidding.
Unholy for pvp. No good damage profile no good survival Les cc fromDF. Next season is coming more nerf to survival and the damage profile is question atm. I don’t give hight hopes ofc
