UI Add ons not working

Hey blizz why did you have to disable add ons that the player base rely on to play the game the way they want to ?

I’m not aware of Blizzard disabling any addons, however, addon creators will need to adjust their addons for them to function with the changes in WoW with the prepatch update.

If you find addons aren’t working for you, your best bet is to check out the information on curseforge on how to contact them. Many have discords, or ticketing systems.

Ahh thank you for the information i was worried that blizz kinda just banned all add ons over night

I have a few I’ve had to disable because they are throwing up too many errors atm.

Hopefully after a week or so the addon creators will be able to catch up

The majority of addons I have used for years do not work anymore. I know how to check for updates on Cursefore and Discord, but that is not the point. Looks like addon creators are discouraged to continue working on their addons over and over again. Blizzard keeps making small of big ajustments in the game that breaks the addons almost every patch, expantion update and sometimes even in between these major game updates.

I also want to know why Blizzard rolls out such a major UI change during an event.
Lots of us with many alts want to collect candy buckets, to be able to buy the Hallows pets and sell these on the auctionhouse. With a broken UI it’s impossible to do the Hallows dungeon. Why not wait with these UI changes untill Hallow’s End is done or do the UI changes before the event.

I turned on all mine and tested. Some worked ok with old versions, ThreatPlates and MapCoords.
I had to replace SellJunk with one called Scrap, meh does the same thing.
I updated StoryLine and it works fine now.
Had to get rid of DurabilityStatus and it was sitting over the Clock and I couldn’t figure out how to move it, it still worked apart from that. Meh, Auto repairs isn’t a massive QoL.

All in all not so bad really.

When you hold your shift-key down, you can place DurabilityStatus everywhere you want by dragging it with your mouse.

Only add-ons I’ve had any trouble with are TomTom and world quest tracker. Both are interfering with the new UI editor for some reason.

Addons are build on the application programming interface (API) of WoW, with new expansions and patches to some extent the API changes and makes most addons to break.

Depending on the size and complexity of the addon it can take some time before it’s updated and works with current API. Some are abandoned because they aren’t needed or relevant anymore.

Thank you. I have just done this and it worked. I’m pretty much back to normal AddOn wise (for my existing ones, I’ll still need some new ones probably to make some thing easier to see).

It’s started doing something weird that it wasn’t doing before. Now I have two durabilitystatus windows, one with a border like how it always looked (which wasn’t there a few days ago in the new UI) and one that’s transparent apart from the anvil and percentage.
Have you seen this?

This has ALWAYS been the case. Why is it a problem all of sudden?
Why would it discourage them NOW all of a sudden?

Lol. You have to be trolling. Right?

Don’t worry most addons will be updated.

Sure it takes some time for it, wait for a couple of weeks and it should be good.

I’m lucky because I don’t use a lot of addons and apart of only 2 addons, all of the others have been already updated.

Ps : you can also find an alternative addon for the one which are not updated yet, while waiting.
