I am sure this has been answered somewhere but are the rewards from the Legacy of Tyr quest in the prepatch unique appearances or will they be obtainable some how in Dragonflight?
I would like to collect them for mogs more than anything, and I have heard rumours that you can collect them all by running the dungeon once as a warrior, but have also heard you can run it on any class and still unlock all the appearances. I am just after some clarification about which (if any) is true as my warrior is only level 40 and has not been played since… Legion? I do have other classes at level 60 that I can run it with, but I am after the quickest method to just gain the mogs.
In the meantime, I have almost completed my mog collection of the Primeval Essence gear and have 2/4 of the dimmed thingies for the heirloom. I just do not feel I have time to level and learn how to warrior, or to get more essences to gain enough gear to run the dungeon several times.
Please do not bash me too hard for leaving this to the last minute - I have been in and out of hospital the last week, and due a baby any day now
Completing a quest unlocks any appearance a character can equip (for weapons at least), even if it’s not offered as a reward due to personal loot. Since warriors can equip all weapons besides wands and warglaives (none of those are offered in this quest) then yes one would unlock all weapons.
How many character will it take to unlock all weapons? Depends on the classes you’re playing. To get the gun it would require either a hunter or a rogue.
If you choose hunter, the only weapon they don’t get from this quest is a 1handed mace, so supplement with any class that can equip those.
If you choose rogue then they can’t unlock the 2handed sword, staff and polearm. The only classes that can unlock all 3 of those are the aforementioned warrior and hunter, so if neither are an option you’d have to run as 2 more characters for a total of 3 (either evoker + a class that can equip polearms, or paladin/dk + a class that can equip staves).
Warrior is levelled and have just got her enough ilvl to run the dungeon, which is my goal for tonight/tomorrow
Just a note I would like to add in case someone has also left this to the last minute and does not have a warrior…
I bought the 2h sword from the Primeval Vendor, which seems to share the same appearance as the Legacy of Tyr one.
From what I can see from WoWhead, the only unique weapon rewards from the quest are the Agility Dagger, Gun, Fist and Staff. The rest share their appearance with the Primeval gear. In theory then, you could run the dungeon as a hunter to gain the unique rewards, and buy the remaining mogs with Primeval Essences.
Well, do you collect appearances, or appearance sources? If the first, then sure the 2H Sword is out of the picture and a Hunter might suffice for obtaining the rest.
However, if you are collecting appearances from every source, then you will miss out on an appearance source for the 2H Sword and the option to have it appear as ‘Dunesplitter’ rather than ‘Squallbreaker Greatsword’.
