On mythic mainly, To me its the most unfun raid experience ive ever had. Mother can be fun but every other boss is just too tryhard with antifun mechanics and a huge bias towards certain classes and roles that just make it a bore fest.
The other thing is the huge lag caused my excessive adds in small/right spaces, such as the zul adds or the ones before fetid.
If blizzard keeps going in this direction with future raids the last spark of WoW raiding will be gone.
I’d say they’re all pretty decent bosses. What gripes are you having with these ‘antifun’ mechanics? Sure I could understand Fetid’s adds pre-nerf, or maybe G’huun’s soaks pre-nerf but otherwise I’m personally not feeling it.
Care to give examples? I mean you could argue that Mother is a borefest because you can waltz into the second room and nuke/kill all the adds within ~3 and kill her in the 2nd room, negating a whole 1/3rd of the fight and all add mechanics. All you really have to do is dodge the lazers/frontal/fire circles.
I think what he means on the class bias is the Zul bossfight, which subtlety rogues greatly trivialized. Or having a lot of Affliction warlocks trivialized the extra add that spawns on mythic mythrax, making it possible to funnel more damage into the boss.
Thank f to that, i get a mini panic attack whenever we reach Mythrax on mythic. its not fun and being in voidform with the same animation colors sucks too.
I have to agree with the OP, Uldir is just really boring for some reason. No incentive to clear it again on hc after my first clear. I guess it’s just the look and visuals of the raid that put me off.
I did enjoy MOTHER tho.
I feel the same way. Even though every raid gets boring for me by the end, Uldir broke the record (might be on par with EN though). It’s just a dull experience.
To me the nerfs largely fixed it. There’s no doubt that Uldir has been filled with cheeses that require extremely specific setups, to the point where the instance is effectively not really doable without them.
Pre-nerfs most bosses literally required you to have a maximum of 5 melee. Usually you would want a max of 4. Yet at the same time, Zul wanted you to bring 4 rogues.
Effectively, the game said “bring a whole lot of alts OR all your melee must be rogues. Also, bring minimum 4 warlocks for G’huun btw”
Like, it’s possible to do all the bosses without any rerolls and alt gearing provided you had exactly 4 rogues, no other melee, and 4 warlocks, and one of the tanks had to be a monk.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’d say they missed the mark. They also did fix it with time though so I’m not too mad.
I’m sure Uldir might be an interesting raid if you play a class that has everything in their toolkit, but personally I didn’t like the raid due to the fact I main feral and we lacked AOE and burst until patch 8.1 (the latter which we still lack). Fetid pre-nerf was probably my favourite encounter in that raid.
