Hello. First and foremost I would like to thank the Blizzard developers for giving Fury some love with an additional 8% buff. It was needed, however, not as much as people may think. I am currently 2.1 in 2s (not yet updated on armory) as Fury.
And although it is quite low in comparison to some of my arms warrior brethren a thing of note is, I started this adventure with Fury TODAY. And frankly, I have been so majorly impressed by it’s damage output but less utility than arms yet still effective enough utility, to try my best to help out my fellow Fury warriors. So let us begin to uncover some things about Fury that makes it so deadly.
First let us start with Covenants:
There are really only TWO covenants to choose from as a Fury Warrior in PvP: Night Fae and Kyrian. The best one is by far Night Fae. Now before you start screaming at the top of your lungs, let me explain. During my adventures getting to 2.1 as Fury in 2s with my holy priest friend Night Fae proved far superior to Kyrian. Considering, as a Fury warrior with proper gear and optimization (220+ item level) you can hit people, ranging anywhere from 11k normal hits to 29k crits in arena on geared targets. (Non-Tanks). Combine that with a legendary that we will discuss in the legendary section of this guide and it is a guaranteed killing blow. On top of that, you get 300 guaranteed mastery for 30 seconds after you use your ability, which is very solid.
Kyrian on the other hand is a tricky one, you don’t really have anything with Kyrian as Fury to make virtually anyone a viable kill target like Night Fae offers, especially in 2s. But you do have a way to keep people in place, which is always good. And it can prevent go’s and stop rogue + mage in their tracks.
Legendaries:
The ONLY legendary you should be concerned with acquiring as Fury in PvP is surprisingly not what you may think it is. It is not a Fury specific one. But rather, an arms legendary. Yes. You heard that right. The Unhinged legendary is a very deadly legendary that works even as fury. Provided you are wielding two 2 handed weapons. It also provides you with a mortal strike for a short time and dealing it’s full damage quicker than arms. Do take note that this legendary should ONLY be used when you have your mastery buff up (enrage) and then you should press Bladestorm. Bladestorm as Fury deals it’s full damage quicker meaning the 2 mortal strikes will also hit your target much quicker.
Normal talents:
Talents for every game with NO exception: Fresh meat, Storm bolt, Onslaught OR Frenzy, Warpaint, Cruelty, Bladestorm & Siegebreaker.
PvP talents:
This is where it gets interesting yet again because of one very peculiar PvP talent “Death Wish” but we will get to that.
Recommended for ALL games: Enduring Rage
With the other 2 slots pick either Death Wish (only remain at 2-3 stacks if not 4 as max if you have good amount of vers 30% or higher). Death Wish, contrary to popular belief is a very solid pick into most things. If you coordinate things correctly as a team, you should be able to get maximum value out of this PvP talent, making EVERYTHING including your Night Fae ability hit like an absolute truck.
Bloodrage is a solid pick, especially into rogue mage in 2s. Why? Example: Healer dispels poly, you get rooted. Remove root with Bloodrage and keep chasing rogue or mage.
Overwatch against CC heavy comps. For example, if you are good at predicting traps from a hunter or can pre intervene a cover from the rogue against rogue mage (rogue cheap shots you so mage can get a free polymorph).
Disarm against warrior teams/rets.
Master and Commander as Fury is not in the recommended list to run as a PvP talent, according to me at least.
Soulbinds & Conduits:
Night Fae BiS: Niya with double potency.
Kyrian BiS: Pelagos with double potency.
BiS conduits as Night Fae: Destructive Reverberations is your go-to potency conduit if it is 200 item level. Otherwise, your go to is always Depths of Insanity. The 200 item level version of Destructive Reverberations only drops from world bosses.
Finesse conduit in all cases: Safeguard
Endurance conduit in all cases: Stalwart Guardian
As Night Fae: Destructive Reverberations > Safeguard > Stalwart Guardian > Depths of Insanity. This should be your path with the Niya soulbind.
As Kyrian: Piercing Verdict (if 200 item level) > Stalwart Guardian > Depths of Insanity > Safeguard
Best Comps for 3s/2s are as follows:
3v3: Turbo (Fury + Disc + Enhancement), KFC (Hunter + Fury + Healer) or to spice things up you can play with a Windwalker too.
Update: in 3v3 you can also run with a prot pala, same in 2s. Be prepared to get rage whispers lmao.
2s: Any healer.
Stats: Vers + Haste is your go-to. Get Haste to 20% and you are golden.
Update: Vers > Mastery > Rest is a viable option. I have been testing it recently. It’s extremely strong. Probably stronger than Vers > Haste > Rest.
UPDATE: Best race options: I have just theorycrafted further and found that dark iron dwarf as night fae Fury warrior is overshadowing the other races by FAR. Surprising amount of burst potential with the racial + badge on-use. So much so, 33k crit on a holy pala with 6 stacks of death wish in arena. Yes. 33k crit.
That is all the knowledge I have acquired in terms of Fury for now when it comes to the Arena & PvP in general in Shadowlands. I hope all you aspiring Fury Warriors out there find this information useful and can take advantage of it. I tried my best. <3
