So what is the purpose of this?
That you are pink and can’t use mounts?
Wow, such a feature.
Also - I think the treasures in PD are on long respawn timers - “fun”… jfc…

I think next week/reset the cloak will allow us to use mounts in there still not helpful atm but i have given up on the place already.
True what Alaric said

I keep hoping they’ll try something new, but it’s just more of the same: basic side quests, throwaway world quests, a bit of a pink effect on the screen for flavour.
I often recall how Zereth Mortis stood out because it actually had layers, cool rare spawns, puzzles, things to discover over time, interesting grinds.
Most of the new zones feel quite nice to look at and listen to, no doubt, but unfortunately there’s not much going on under the surface.
Blizz art department is great and gameplay design department is hopeless.
They create Boralis and then…fill it up with beat up 10 mobs wqs.
Think it’s mostly to imply there is a “blueprint” version of the world(s) made by the arcane just like the emerald dream is the life blueprint… that’s at least what it made me think about.
And it allows them to put in double the world quests in a fairly small place without it feeling crowded. I kinda like it, quickly hopping into phase dive and then using those thingies is way faster than flying or taking the flight master, so… nice I guess.
Waste time.
I’m sure there’s some people who think it’s a fun waste of time, but I’m not one of those people.
Snide remark: to give me migraines
Genuine answer: I think it’s meant to be a “fun feature” to find cosmetics and travel round, another way to get wrap upgrades and upgrading a console is “fun”.
The sound of it didn’t hook me before, neither does Ve’nari’s Eco Dome. I am just hoping I can get the quest, go into the normal world, then go back to hand it in so I don’t have to be in K’aresh.
I think it’s a test for an optional harder overworld, just like they had with The Rift in Korthia.
But here’s the double-edged knife. If you don’t put a tangible reward for doing that more difficult part of the game, it will see very low amounts of players engage with it; similar to how there is a cliff right after M+10 and D+8 in Season 1. And if you put a tangible reward, you have the playerbase bring up complaints that they are forced to endure a playstyle they don’t enjoy to get something that will help them in content they enjoy.
To me Phase Diving should have just cosmetic rewards and one-time achievements for doing stuff like killing every rare enemy or collecting every treasure in it. It should not have repeatable World Quests or grindable content. And simultaneously, it shoul have increased yield of gold/hour and crafting materials/hour in comparison to the regular overworld.
Some treasures require quests to be completed that are not in game yet.
It doesn’t seem any more difficult for me, just slightly annoying that there are elites everywhere. They aren’t posing a challenge, just getting in the way. I don’t want harder outdoor content and especially not if that’s their idea of it.
If thats the case then its realy dumb imho .
U have to suffer runing around for hours or use degenerate strategy to collect orb to get the mount that u wont realy need once u get it ?
Like apart from that achiev and mount tied to it whats there to do? Kill rares and collect treasures that arent even spawning ?
Me to

We don’t need the achievement mount to be able to mount up in Phase diving from next week The way it works is you can summon any mount but it transforms into Phase-lost Slateback appearance. The achievement mount gives you a version you can use in normal space.
The treasures in untethered space (phase diving) aren’t available until we get the back to tier 5.
That out of the way I’m a bit bemused by the whole feature - apart from the riding restrictions and our character changing colour - it really doesn’t make the zone feel any different or larger.
I don’t mind it - but I don’t think it living up to the level of promotion that Blizzard gave it - for me it’s very much a case of over promising an under delivering.
Thankfully Ecological Succession does have a little more depth - as K’aresh has felt very empty of content this week - why they time gated the zone’s main thing to do is beyond me.
