Unable to complete character transfer or access character

I purchased a realm transfer token three days ago and wanted to transfer my character from the EU Chamber of Aspects server to Silvermoon. I have been waiting for it to move but it still hasn’t happened. When I have searched the forums today I have seen that the problem is probably that there is mail waiting in the character’s mailbox. I can’t access the character to clear the mail because it says “you can not log in until the character update process you recently initiated is completed”. Because of this my character is stuck.
