Hi
iv got a RTX2070 and since the pre patch went live i have not been able to enable it however it works fine on the SL beta and it also worked on the pre patch ptr.
Any ideas…and before you ask i am on the latest November windows update and the most current nvidia driver.
Kind Regards
You need to use DX12 for RT shadows.
according to my dxdiag i have directx 12
Game also has mode selector - check if it’s DX12 and RTX explicitly set, then check if the ray tracing has something meaningful on the message why it’s disabled.

Unsupported for graphics related reasons is the message on the settings page …what mode selector are you talking about?
Though it works on SL beta
Well duh… you need to select DX12 ingame under advanced
i dont have the option to only dx11
So you are running Windows 10 with at least version 2004 right?
Your Nvidia driver is also up to date?
Make sure your Nvidia GPU is selected in WoW under Advanced settings at the bottom.
Then you should be able to select DX12 API.
If not, try reinstalling the Nvidia driver completely.
This is the answer i got from support…

Goto the Blizzard Desktop app → Click on the Blizzard logo at the top left → Drop down to Settings → Game Settings → Scroll down till you find the World of Warcraft section. Make sure Additional command line argumetns is unchecked. Done.

Goto the Battle.net Desktop app → World of Warcraft tab → Options → Drop down to, “Show in Explorer” → Open World of Warcraft → Retail →
Right click on the Wow.exe → Properties → Compatibility tab → Make sure nothing is checked. If any of the options on this page are checked, uncheck it and apply, Okay. While still in the Retail folder dele that WTF folder one more time.

Perform a clean install of the latest Nvidia driver. This step is not about updating the driver but clearing any possible corruption. You would run the latest driver again. When you get to the Install Options section select: Custom (Advanced) → Next → Check Mark: Perform a clean installation and finish the install before restarting the PC.
Uhm ok, but this does not answer my questions
