Unable to join friends on locked realm: informations and suggestions

Hello,
I have seen plenty of topics about people can’t join friends on the locked servers. In my case SoD: Living flame.
I see pros and cons about locking the server, but I still believe it can be prevented and better handled and communicated.
For example lock it earlier and enable in-game invitations to the realm for friends (to eliminate randoms) or later on by offering free character transfers and faction changes (just during server lockout when imbalance is happening).
I would be even willing to pay a small fee (that can be used to increase capacity options of the realm) for joining my friends. Unfortunatelly I was just forced to cancel sub, because there is no way how I can join them and I do not want to play without them.

The last thing you can do is atleast some reservation list, where players have reserved spots (for example for 3 days after receiving e-mail that server was unlocked and they have limited time to join or the reservation will be forwarded to next waiting players).

I would like to do so, but since I cancelled the sub (=can’t do it online) and SoD forum allows you to post only if you have level 10 or higher (=I would like to, but I don’t have) I was left with this option… :melting_face:

I’m afraid that Customer Support doesn’t handle how the game works, which includes the availability of the different servers in game.

and people will sell spots on server on third-party websites this way (or even legal for in-game gold in discords). Blizzard can’t figure out is it your real friend or buyer.

It was my own way how to send a suggestion (sub expired and SoD forum request 10+char) - the suggestions was meant to dev team - but I hope you guys are connected and appreciate old customer suggestion and you can resend it. :slightly_smiling_face:

From what I read on the forum I am not the only one experiencing this issue and plenty of customers quit the game because of it.
I am missing clear communication how you want to proceed with this exact problem. I see why you did it, I don’t see how you want to proceed next.
If you are extending capacities, making new system or if you just don’t care. Also I am missing some tool (for example reservation system I mentioned) to notify me once server is ready for me to join. It is not about how game works - but how I want to be treated like a customer and I would like to receive announcement once the server is unlocked.
(actually I got some tool from github, but missing some official one)

Yeah, it is possible. But if you are a new player without friends you do not care what realm you join, first choice is the one with higher population for sure, but when it is locked you would not go to some third-party website and try to trade something, you would just join the 2nd highest pop realm. My opinion, ofcourse there would be few exceptions…
It can be also prevented by a small fee 3$, if you have friends there you would have gladly payd that. If you don’t what’s the reason of paying 3$ extra…
Also I wanna join IRL friends from the same city so even bluetooth invitation from battle.net mobile app would work for me :slight_smile:
