I unlocked rank 3 essence ( Stalwart Battlefield Memento → ripple in space ) on my main. Now I want to buy it on my alts from MOTHER to get 5 % speed buff, but it is still locked. It is a bug and it still occuring after checking regularly for more than 6 months. Please fix this issue, the essence is great for all people who farm Tmogs, material etc.

Anyway I know this bug and have reported it in the past as well. I’ve had some essences unlock after a weekly reset but I’m not sure why.
All I can suggest is that after the weekly reset (Wednesday) you log into the character that unlocked the rank 3 essence first and check your alts afterwards. I’ll try to test it as well and report my results.

So I just went with my main and even with that main that has the essence rank 3 already implemented into Hear of Azeroth is now not able to buy it from MOTHER as it is locked and says that I need to unlock rank 3 on another character. This is really frustrating as I was doing the quests purely for the 5 % movement bonus.
Yeah, sorry. I tried to replicate what I was talking about but didn’t get any results. All I know is that it is possible to have MOTHER updated but I don’t know how that happens.
It is crazy, but somehow MOTHER is now selling me the needed essence for the alts and it is not locked. Already bought it on 3 of my alts. But I do not understand what changed that it is not locked anymore.
Since im having the same issue, ill bump this when it “fixes itself” and try to get better documentation on why.
So far:

I’m having the same issue here as patch 10.1 is live.
Earned the rank 3 essence with my dh main, then unable to buy it from MOTHER on my druid.
OK I think I found a solution that works, if you buy an essence from MOTHER, any other rank 3 essence that character has will become available for all characters on your account.
What I did was get the Artifice of Time essence on my evoker, and I then purchased Essence of the Focusing Iris. I then noticed that I could purchase Blood of the Enemy on my other characters. So what I did next is purchase Blood of the Enemy on a character that has Breath of the Dying, which wasn’t available for me on MOTHER’s list before, and it then became available on other characters.
So if you can buy another Azerite Essence from MOTHER on the character that got the essence you’re interested in, it should become available for the rest of your account.
It’s not the greatest solution I know, since it might be problematic if you don’t have an essence to purchase on your main, but it’s the only way I managed to make it update right now.

25/07/2023 Update: I talked to some GM’s about this issue and they basically told me that they are aware of this situation and have passed the info to higher ranks, meanwhile there is nothing they can do.
I suppose Blizz will fix this in 3 or 4 expansions 
This worked for me!
Bought any other essence from MOTHER on the character that unlocked the wanted essence, and after that I could buy the wanted essence on every other character on the account.
