I play a Death Knight. When I got the ‘Raise Dead’ spell at level 12 I decided to use the skeleton glyph on it. But now at level 30 I would rather go back to the original ghoul. However every time I use ‘Vanishing Powder’ on it all I get is a LUA error saying Bad Request. I think it’s due to the level 2 Raise Dead overwriting the original one. I’ve tried all the usual stuff…resettingthe UI to the default, removing all addons etc, but nothing works.
Please help.

Hey Uel,
If you’re getting a LUA error when attempting to use the powder, this is normally a sign of an outdated addon. Can you try the steps here to reset your UI and then try using the powder again? That should help.
I had this issue back at the end of Legion on my Druid.
Unfortunately, the LUA error was coming from one of Blizzard’s own LUA scripts that make part of the interface, so disabling and removing it wasn’t an option.
In the end they resolved it by a GM taking control of my druid himself, and removing it (the glyph) for me.
Hi…thanks for your reply. I actually did all that prior to posting here. I’m actually only using one addon, so I completely deleted it. As for the reset I did all of that too, I even used the /console cvar_default command when the reset didn’t work. Unfortunately the console command didn’t work either.
Just to mention…I had used the same glyph on all three spec’s. Vanishing Powder removed the glyph from the Frost and Blood spec’s normally, it’s only on Unholy that I have this problem. That’s why I wonder if it’s the level 2 overwrite that is causing the problem.
Thanks.
Can you try changing your “All Will Serve” talent to something else and then trying the powder? Some talents that change base spells can prevent it from working, which would explain why you could do it for both Frost and Blood (they don’t have that talent).
Hi
Yep as you’ve asked I’ve just tried that…unfortunately it didn’t work either
Thanks
Necro’ing this thread as I have the same problem:
I glyph’d before rank 2 and now stuck with the rank 1 glyph.
I have tried with no active addon, and I have tried without the talent active,
it looks like this specific situation still has not been fixed.

Even Death Knights should not raise a 2 year old thread
Have you tried overwriting the glyph rather than removing, then removing with Vanishing powder after? Hopefully the glyphs are not too expensive but there are two that effect Raise Dead, so it may allow you to overwrite it to the other.
If the above does not work, then you will need to open a ticket to have a GM remove it manually.
Yep I have tried everything I could find/think of.
Overwriting it is actually the first thing I tried.
Here is what happens though, even with geist on top, my pet is still a skeleton.
I think what was mentioned above about the problem being on Blizzard’s end is accurate.
Problem fixed under 24h via ticket.
Here is what the Technical Specialist had to say about it:
> Investigating this issue this does appear to be a known bug it can also occur if a spell is modified with a related talent, then the talent is changed. This is expected to be resolved in a future patch. In this case it could of also occurred with the rank upgrade.
> I was able to fix this for you for now. I would recommend to be careful on using glyphs on this spell Rase Dead for the near future until we can resolve this issue as from my understanding it’s possible to occur again. Though we are always here if you need us and I look forward to seeing this resolved in the future! Sadly no exact ETA it appears related to a core system so it could be with the next expansion release.
I hope these posts will help some DKs in the future.
