With Manduin gone and throne taken by the usurper Turalyon there is no way to open BFA quest chain. It is not in adventure guide, not on chromie, not in Boralus, not on Turalyon.
Could we have Manduin back please until it is fixed?
Edit: So I tried creating an Exile’s Reach toon as they can get to KT no problem, yet couldn’t share the quests. Looks like non-Exile’s Reach toons can not enter BFA content for questing at all for now.
Edit 2: Heard it would be obtainable from Hero’s Call Board and we went through all the quests for no avail. Not even a lick of success!
Levelled a fresh character without touching BFA, at level 50 I was given a level 1 Heart for my troubles by Swagni then booted out of the chamber with nothing else to work with; I can’t even reenter it.
Portal opened in SW to Boralus but there’s nothing I can do there, can’t access Zandalar, can’t get the cloak, can’t progress BFA in any capacity.
Also having this issue with lvl 35 human DK. Did not go through Exiles reach, the character had already been created before lvl squish so was 25 after the patch hit.
There is no option to start BFA from Chromie, boards or Turalyon.
Something is definitely broken for some characters, even when players are in the current timeline.
If you level a fresh character through exile’s reach and then you don’t pick the stormwind tutorial but instead pick “I’m already familiar with stormwind” then you can not pick up the BFA starting quest. The herald in front of the hero board simply does not give a quest at all. You do get a quest to go talk to Chromie to pick a timeline, but even if you abandon or complete that quest it has no effect on your ability to see the BFA intro quest.
Tested another idea today and going to Boralus via boat from Stormwind Harbour to journey to Tiragarde Sound to quest did not work fully.
One can do side-quests all over Tiragarde Sound it seems, along with the Norwington Estate bit of the storyline. It is not much but perhaps something to do for those who are stuck while waiting for a fix from Blizzard.
Flynn is at Eastpoint Station yet does not offer any quests, neither do ferries work so it will be a bit of running.
Edit: Looks like one can do Island Expeditions as a level 10 too.
Same issue here. I wanted to level some alts of various levels (previously 25 to 100) thanks to the prepatch, but none of them has access to a quest to start the BFA stuff.
Same problem here - got a load of lvl 45 alts that I would love to get finished before the expansion hits, but being held up by this stupid bug. I really want to lvl in BfA, because if I have to level through one of the old zones one more
time, I might vomit. Or kill something. Or eat my keyboard. Or something really really dramatic and bad.
Including a link to the US forums with the same issue:
6 of my characters are stuck with this bug and dozens of people are reporting it in trade chat.
I tried opening a ticket and GM response was to go to Wowhead.
Standard response when GM is busy / can’t be bothered. I’d just open another ticket in that case, but most likely they know of the bug and are working on it now that servers are fixed.
As for being stuck at 45 you should be able to talk to Chromie to enter some older expansion and gain last levels there. Not as lovely as getting to do BFA stuff out of the way while leveling, but it works!
If Chromie doesn’t work then there’s Island Expeditions, dungeons and side-quests at KT. Hopefully they fix this soon.
This might be a silly question, but have you tried going to Chromie and asking her to take you out of Chromie Time? I saw she had that option, but I haven’t levelled a new character through Chromie Time all the way to 50, so I can’t test it myself.
It’s been 4 days since it broke, I don’t know if this is a joke on their part or what how difficult is it to fix this? How many raid tiers will it cost?
It has been attempted to no avail. Basically if you could somehow phase yourself to older version of the keep you might be able to get the quest, but this would take lots of trial and error to find out what quest does it. Simply beyond lengths of what any player should be expected to do.
Gonna quote the response i got from a GM once i actually nagged hard enough to get to talk to a person.
“You are correct, there is currently a bug for Allied Race characters on the Alliance side preventing them from starting the BfA quests. This is considered highest priority - our developers are currently preparing a hotfix to get this resolved.”
This was yesterday. I’m just gonna suppose it’s bigger then one click and might not happen until wednesday.
Thank you! So glad to hear they are working on a fix. Yeah it’s bound to be bigger than one click as they need to trace all quests Anduin had and link them to Turalyon, possibly rewrite quest text etc. Good to know that they are working on it so we have a fix by next wednesday at latest.
That’s such a shame. It seems like the simplest solution, but then again I’m not a developer so I have no idea how much effort it would take in reality.
