Unable to Start up 3D acceleration

Hi, I am experiencing the exact same issue since patch 9.0.5.

A short freeze, then WoW minimizes, closes, starts again. it all happens in 5 second. This occurs sometimes 3 times in 10 minutes, sometimes not for hours and anywhere in the world/instances/dungeons.

my dx.log looks identical:

Die anyone find a solution here yet ?

Do you have any overlays active?

Nope, I do not have any overlays active.

Sorry to hear that you’ve been crashing while playing and having difficulties starting it some times. Your logs are different from the thread you attached it to. In your case, it is reading as though your GPU or it’s drivers are becoming unresponsive while playing which is commonly associated with something called a TDR. Nvidia has a fantastic thread with more information regarding these and you can read up on them here.

Given this, we recommend clean installing your graphics drivers. You can find your Nvidia drivers here. You can use these instructions to clean install:

  • Choose custom installation
  • Choose install without geforce experience
  • Untick the 3D driver components (if listed)
  • Click clean install
  • Continue and complete the installation as per normal

Hopefully this helps you out but if the issue persists, I’d also be interested in gathering more information from your CPU and GPU via HWmonitor:

  • Download HWmonitor
  • Run the 64bit client and leave it in the background
  • Play WoW until you start seeing the issues
  • Minimize all the sections except for your CPU and GPU
  • Take a screenshot of the what’s displayed and include it in your reply.

Along with this, please also upload your system files to pastebin.com and reply with the links to the files using the preformatted text option to encapsulate the links.

I do have the same issue …

I’ve got an INTEL Iris Xe with the last intel graphic driver, and that issue comes up (almost) every time I launch the game … Dx12 crash and switch to Dx11. If I keep Dx11 API , same issue : Freeze for 5-10 secconds with same errors in the gx.log

Workaround who is working for me : Launch the game in Dx11 then switch it to Dx12 once you are in game. If you don’t have a “back to desktop” then it will be fine.
