So while I’m prepping my TTRPG night, I decided to do a funny oneshot playing high level hostile characters. After thinking about what in the lore would fit, I decided to use the old Four Horsemen team. While diving in their stories, I realised that I would love to have way more things about Sir Zeliek.
We don’t know anything about him outside of his fate in the comic related to Mograine. But Zeliek is nothing less than a follower of the light with a faith so strong that undeath not only failed to stopped it, it also protected Zeliek’s mind from the will of the Lich King. He retained all of his morality while being forced to do the horrible things the Scourge asked, asking players to flee from battle. He was basically a mind trapped in his own body, which he could not control at all. And while he isn’t the only undead to be able to wield the light, he is still the only unique death knight able to do it while retaining his own sanity despite his body killing people, showing that a light fed by enough will is able to manifest even in this weird and terrible situation. We could even ask if it’s not even a cruel joke from the light, cause surely losing your mind or having your personality changed would be a less terrible fate than being forced to mass murder while everything you are to the core of your soul is against it.
