Finally unlocked this artifact, waterwalking and transforming to fish while I am swimming. My rod is equipped in the Fishing Journal but somehow it doesn’t activate when I jump in to the water or trying to walk.
I am curious, anyone using this rod, how it should work and does it even work with DF profession changes?

Since the profession changes, you need the buff of the fishing apparel to be active to benefit from this. Meaning you have to disable/not enable auto hiding it after fishing is done, and you have to fish/reequip it after combat to refresh the buff.
Ohh okay, my equipment gear is hidden so that was the issue.
So whenever I want to transform to fish and swim, I have to fish first to trigger the rod and if I get in to the combar I have to do it again?
Either fish or reequip it (remove or equip another one then equip it again) which might be faster if you’re already underwater.
It’s really annoying now it’s part of our equipment. I wish they’d make it respect what it’s meant to do.
I can fish then it works but if I don’t swim straight away I wont turn into a fish.
I really hope that the new expansion will “fix” some issues that are coused with the new profession system.
I mean, this is a really good example of ruining the item. I understand that it’s the item from one of the previous expansions, but it should has some influence, still. People were working for it and around it, it was giving some niche benefits, and it should do it now as well.
Weird, I just tried it with my fishing rod, that I have on this character and I was able to walk on the water and fish etc.
So no idea why it’s not working for you.
Did you fish first? That activates it.
yeah, you fish and you then get the buff, which then allows you to wake on the water and then go under the water and turn into a fishy!

/equip Underlight Angler
It serves as a toggle between your fishing rods (you want to be a great dragon isles fisherman or you want artifact benefits) and you don’t have to actually start fishing to gain the waterwalking/shark form. Underwater but not a shark? Press macro.
You can replace the first line with whatever standard fishing rod you have.
You have to cast fishing to activate it.
