I think the zone is great, best zone in longest time. Im waiting mostly season to start for pvp but from the longest time there is something outside of pvp that also interest me and where will spend time. Its a goblin themed city that has awesome music and scrapyard steampunk looks combined with cartels and casino, also plays bit with gotham themes. It has strong theme, its clever, its cool, its playful and its fun. Thank you blizzard for giving us something fun
Options are always good imo.
Personally I opted for a very standard hippie treehugger outfit, and this at the goblins reinforces my character being out of her comfort zone.
Undermine, from my experience so far is OK. I’m generally not a huge fan of this goblin theme and underground zones, but at least it’s a nice change of pace. It’s a very unique zone, I definitely give credit for that.
I like it lots, loads of imagination on display and has a real sense of fun about it which is what makes WoW different from many MMOs imho. Am hoping for Advanced races soon, and maybe Grand Prix in old zones like Dragon Races? That would be ace.
Finally caught up on Undermine…
I love the vibe of the place, the atmosphere.
It’s basically playing/watching The Godfather for me.
Crime syndicates, maffia, this place has it all, and honestly it presents it really well.
The extortion of the lower class, the mobsters, the crimelords…
It’s all there, and presented really well.
However…
I’m not enjoying the car driving that much.
The controls feel…weird
and the blazing through the areas is just…too much.
It’s great not to deal with the enemies, but the enemies are also a problem.
Certain areas are just too packed, and as a healer, I often get caught be respawns leaving no room to escape.
The quests are well done and fun.
As is the cycle of events/rares.
The music makes it all just fit perfectly together.
All in all, it’s a good zone.
Been playing since day one, one of the worst zones I’ve ever played.
Finally Goblins got some justice after Devs were obsessed with Gnomes.
The artistry, imagination, and humor which went into this zone are undeniable. Goblin lore has never appealed to me personally, but I admire what they did with this area and I’m in awe of the amount of detail they put into it. I also happen to like jazz, so I enjoy the soundtrack.
BUT … I find it difficult to enjoy it because it makes me extremely nauseous. It’s not DRIVE, although that contributes somewhat, I think. It’s the fact that everything is so small and cramped together and claustrophobic. There are sharp turns everywhere and navigating inside the buildings makes me dizzy.
I’ve never had this issue in WoW before in the many years I’ve been playing. I’d like to explore, but everything in there seems designed to make me barf. Going to Dorn or Hallowfall feels like coming out for air in comparison.
I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected. I think they’ve done an excellent job with the zones for this expansion and made them feel a lot more ‘lived in’. I’m looking forward to seeing what they add to the game in future patches.
I thought I was not going to enjoy it at all, but it’s done something I never thought would happen. I have never had any interest in Goblins, and even though I have like 50 characters, not one of them is (was) a Goblin.
I never disliked them at all, I just did not think about them. After seeing how cool Undermine is, I started digging into their lore and now I absolutely love them! Quite possibly my favourite lore for any race in WoW and so now I have two Goblins and I’m going to thoroughly enjoy playing them in Undermine.
Ehhh , no. I am speeding from point A to point B with the car so fast that I barely notice the surroundings.
A bird’s eye view is a much more effective way to learn the layout of a zone than being a mouse in the maze, no matter how fast you go.
That said I am one of those who enjoy the undermine driving, because it is kinda novel and it is still fast enough. It also feels authentically goblin.
I m liking it aswel
Me too, but I really hope we won’t have more underground stuff for a long while.
I want to see wide open zones with these amounts of details and themes I actually am into.
Personally, I found the Undermine very cluttered and chaotic. It’s a personal preference, but the whole goblin aesthetic is not very appealing to me.
I do not mind using ground mounts, but I found D.R.I.V.E. to be very clunky and exceptionally disruptive in the gameplay. The map is very maze like, and there is just so much happening, all at the same time, and it’s very distracting and impossible to keep up. Finally, I have an issue with aggro in the area. It has felt that I have not stopped fighting from the second I stepped into the area.
I am glad to see that people enjoy the Undermine content and area, but it is definitely not my cup of tea, and I wish that mechanics like the D.R.I.V.E. were not as integrated in the core content of the patch.
Worst zone is by far Hallowfall for me. There was no reason to bring in humans again but Blizzard just couldn’t help themselves and forced it on us all. Undermine rivals Azh-khajet really with how on top the wholef eeling of being underground is.
I like the zone (how it looks I mean), I hate the car ( but nobody forces me to use it, so that’s cool ).
Just today I found out the sewer entrances since I couldn’t find my ores!
Most fun I had with new zones was with Nazjatar and Mechagon !
Absolutely love the zone, hands down. Probably my favorite WoW zone now.
It’s SO REFRESHING! So THANK YOU, Blizzard, for giving us something different.
I was so tired of Night Elves and zones that had samey vibes to what we’ve seen many times. Undermine just gives a whole different feel to the game and I absolutely love it.
The music, the steampunk vibe, the quests – very clever. I only wish the zone was bigger and that it offered more things to us.
It’s an ideal place for mini games and a -lot- more. It’s a shame that once you’re done with quests there’s really almost nothing to do.
This is the type of content I absolutely love. Grounded quests, city life, local problems. The quest with Underriders was amazing where you earn your little apartment. Now imagine if we focused more on simpler stuff like that instead of world ending threats… having your own little villains to deal with etc… it really restores that sense of immersion and gives a sense of feeling good. I was really happy to save that Goblin lady.
That said, I’m truly having a blast. Goblins getting some love is also what we needed.
I’ll never understand people complain about something we haven’t really -seen- in WoW. I don’t know what was expected from a Goblin town???
Also the jazz is just
Seems the forums are kinda 50/50 on this patch. I will say one thing though. This patch at least feel wow related again. WoW themed. I know goblins aren’t everyones cup of tea. But they are a very much warcraft race that belongs.
