Undermine - The Best Zone

It’s my first time to the forum.
Usually I do not care to do that, but this time I really need to give an applause to devs.

Undermine is one of 2 best maps I’ve seen in this game;

  • No flying - which makes us actually explore the world, we get to see how it actually look
  • Vibe is really good, a goblin city just has something cool in it
  • A whole map being a city which is something new and kinda cool
  • Quests (so far, I’m still questing) are not overcomplicated, kinda down to earth and just feel good
  • No performance issues, at least I have none of them
  • Overall visuals, and feeling of the place is just very good

I have seen some people talk bad about the zone and decided to contradict their opinion, I think they are just mad they have to actually play the game and not just woosh woosh in the air from place to place.

Thank you for the good job you’ve done there =)

The only thing i havent liked about is the digging event, other than that ive loved every moment.

I usually play the game with music & character voices off so that they dont drown out the video im watching on the background, but undermine got me to turn them back on & i havent regretted that choice yet.
I even watched the cutscenes instead of skipping them!

I love Undermine!!

One of best and coolest zones they have ever made! Else Hallowfall, it is very epic zone when you go there! :ok_hand:

#TRUTH my brother

I changed my transmog for something less high fantasy and more casual to fit the zone, that’s how much i liked it

I’d fit right in with this look as a mage :+1:

I second the OP’s opinion about the zone.

And you couldn’t do that in the two threads about this topic that already exist?

Okay, well… Let me then share my opinion AGAIN.

I don’t like the zone.

  • It’s dark.
  • It’s ugly.
  • It’s underground.
  • There’s literal garbage everwhere.
  • The cars are incredibly immersion breaking for me, more so than anything else in WoW ever.
  • The mechanic of DRIVE is horrible.
  • The music is awful. First time in WoW’s history I turned off music.
  • The zone is too dense.
  • The zone is too maze-like.
  • The zone is just not fun to be in.
  • The zone gives me headaches if I stay too long in it. ← Actually true. Never had that before except for that little area in the Maw: Ve’nari’s Refuge.
  • No flying is awful. I don’t want to use that horrible DRIVE, so now I have to ride around on a regular mount; getting aggro ALL THE TIME, being late to basically every rare and just having a bad time.

I think that’s enough points for now.
I hope Blizzard learn their lesson and never make anything like this ever again.
Bad job Blizzard. Very bad.

Aesthetically and conceptually appealing, but I do not for one second believe that out of all the complaints about lag issues you could be the only one who never experienced it all.

I literally started this last night and gave up after an hour. To pick up the quest was an issue so that I had to press esc run away from the npc and come back and try again. Same for handing the quest in. Trying to kill anything took a few seconds for the game to register and then react. Even the bg I was doing in between would constantly freeze for a few seconds before anything.

I don’t want to fight with the game to play it. I just want to play.

Too crowded for me. Too many buildings and npcs clumped together. I love the theme and asthetics/story i just wish it was a bit bigger and more spaced out.

At least its better than Naztajar. That was literal trash.

So never Goblins and or city’s again?

Cause most of these points are either cause it’s goblin or cause it’s a map wide city or the combination of both.

And why did the car broke your immersion when we have choppers and helicopters for ages?

Don’t forget the rockets. We have had rockets long before choppers and helicopters.

No, it’s the combination of all those factors that makes the zone awful.
I’ve liked goblin stuff in the past. I think places like Gadgetzan are cool; wish it’d be bigger and an actual city.

I love cities normally. Boralus is one of my favorite places to go to because it feels like an actual town.

But because of all the things I listed, I really think Undermine is a bad zone.

Sure, it’s not the cars themselves. It’s so many of them zooming around. If that technology exists, why isn’t it everywhere? It does not make any sense. Why would people still be riding around on horses when we have actual cars in such quantities as we see now?

That is my issue with them. Karts and cycles and helicopters are generally pretty rare to see and Blizzard use them quite sparingly. Which is good.

And don’t tell me the goblins are hogging that tech for themselves. First of all; if they could sell those things to people for lots of gold, they would. But also: We are gifted one of those things moments after we step into their city; I mean, what the hell?

I agree with everything but the music. I am in love with the music.

Hehe, that’s cool. It’s all subjective.
I found the music breaks my immersion. I just don’t think of WoW when I hear that music; I think of our real world.

And there’s also a track that really bothers me; it just makes me feel antsy and I don’t like that. Certainly not combined with the already chaotic, swarming nature of the zone itself.

I wish blizzard would stop allowing and then taking away flight from us. Either remove flying from the game or let us fly anywhere, it’s simple as that. i’m getting so sick and tired of being robbed of my ability to fly when there is something"new" in the game.

I feel like that about the login music - I know it’s meant to be spidery but still. I’d like the option to be able to change the login music to any of the previous expacs like they do in ff14.

I havent done much in the new zone yet, but so far i havent really liked it there.

It is my misfortune that jazz is one of the types of music I dislike
