Never understood the obsession with a tinker class. If it had become a thing they would’ve done it by now.
Can someone explain to me what specifics a Tinker class would bring to the game?
It’s just cool, does it have to ‘‘bring’’ something? It’s just cool, mech suits, turrets, drones, it’s just cool and a game is made better by having more cool things in it
Well the gun might ne a thing with hunter and the bombs with engineering. But there is so much more that can be done with tinker. Mech suits for tanking if they went there. Turrets bombs and robots for dps. And bombs bots and maybe some kind of healing bombs and such for.a healer they actually already experimented with it in battle for azeroth
And the mech pets, and the traps, ant the fact that they use science to balance out other classes of use of magic. Your thinking is quite redundant and doesn’t bring enough to the table. Just like when people wanted necromancers when we already had unholy dks.
Well with your logic there aint anymore classes to bring really and it will become stale but you do you boo
Tinker would be amazing
goblin and gnome only though please blizzard
they could place turrets or mines
or use mech suits
Ok can we do a little realistic expectation management?
Dropping a new spec for a new class mid expansion is one thing. It made sense as loads of players already had maxed out evokers and we sort of knew what to expect. That being it said, augmentation completely through balance off, both raids and m+.
Now imagine the above situation with not just a new spec, but a new class. Can you not think of all the technical reasons why this, is a terrible idea? Regardless if it fits the lore or story pacing.
We’re getting bloody crash team racing/mario kart in wow, and all the wacky engineer and steampunk mogs, it’s not like the overall theme isn’t being honoured.
I agree. Its not realistic at all and i also state that i am 100% sure it wont happen. That being said its more that they have always said where it fits when making new classes. And we are kinda at the birthplace of the goblins. Its the theme of undermine that would have been best place. They already used mechagon
But as i said i have 0 expectations of this happening.
Well if it gives you any hope, let’s analyse the theme of the void. The last patch of BfA really annoyed many people who are fans of the general theme. We thought the old gods were done for and they went out badly.
But look at us now, the void has been in a way renewed with different elements, enriched with in its cosmic nature and we’re getting an entire expansion (Midnight) which is most likely going to be very void focused. And to add my personal speculation, where we’ll likely get a new void themed class (void knight?).
What’s to stop blizzard from reinventing the engineer/tinker theme? There’s an entire Arathi Empire out there, that are by the looks of it quite technologically advanced, enough to have more advanced airships and other automatons in their daily use. And that’s what we know from the humans in Hallowfall, and according to them, their capitol is full of wonders. What’s not to say that this theme won’t be usable then?
Pandaria SoO hunter set for example.
Other eligible sets: Uldir set, Ulduar set, Vestments of the Eternal traveler.
Undermine is a content patch. We have had entire expansions that have been thematically perfect for the introduction of some classes and yet we haven’t gotten them yet.
I don’t know on what are you to think that they will drop new class with its own hero talents in the middle of the expansion. At this point just play titanfall, tinker is terrible idea and waste of class slot.
You say “shadow drop” and compare a new class to Augmentation, but that’s not what happened in DF at all. We all knew something was coming months before the patch. We just never knew what was it exactly and people were eagerly speculating about new Tank spec, not Support. With Tinker, there’s literally nothing that was datamined and could suggest that something as big as a new class might appear. And there’re lots of changes required for this to happen.
But don’t despair yet! The third Saga expansion is clearly related to Titans, right? Imagine if not exactly Tinker (after all, mundane Engineering exists already), but something that feels the same and have the same abilities from WarCraft 3, only now they are powered with Titan magic – imagine if something like this “shadow drops” by the end of the Saga? Seems more likely than mid-season now.
Although, I’m not a big fan of the idea. Would prefer having more specs over more classes.
Arathi in their armor remind me of space marines. They certainly have the potential for something like that.
