Undersanding upgrading paths

Hi all,
I have three questions related to the upgrade paths.
I am not sure how to paste a picture here but I did it on pastebox

Three questions.

  1. Is heroic raid loot upgradable in any way possible?
  2. Is the selected 476ilevel at the left side upgradable to to 483?
  3. Is the only way to get 486+ilevel to do mythic raiding?

Heroic loot is upgradable with wryms an poss aspects crests. (yes up to 483)

You can get an item in your vault thats upgradable to 489 if you do a m+ of 18 or higher (but you can only pick one per week)

So heroic gear is upgraedable to 483!! That is lovely. Where do I get wryms?

Also super nice to hear that we can upgrade m+ gear to 489 as long as we keep ourselves busy in m+ content.!! And I guess by one per week I guess you mean the weekly vault

Farming +11 to +15 keys is the easiest for those :slight_smile:

Yes, up to Hero 6/6 (483ilvl). Upgrading to Hero 4/6 (476ilvl) needs Wyrm crests, last two levels need Aspect crests.

Yes, 17 M+ GV drops Hero track items, which are upgradable up to Hero 6/6.

No, Mythic track items also drops from GV for M+ 18 and higher.

So for 489 I need to spam a lot m+17 to get items from GV and then upgrade them all the way.
That all keeps the incentive to do heroic raiding and upgrade them to the 483 which I think is a smart move for Blizzard

Spam… spam… you only need to do 1 +18 for a mythic track piece in the vault. And when you just play because you enjoy the game in the first place you also get crests while playing. How many dungeon runs do you see as “spam”?

I do enjoy the game a lot and I would like to stick only to m+ but now I got some incentives for heroic raiding, which is to be able to upgrade the heroic raid level gear to 483 level.

I think the best way to farm gear (if you have a group or have the ilvl for pughell) is to run +18s.
End of dung is 467 (upgradable to 483) and GV is 480 (upgradable to 489).
If you run 4 18s you’ll have 2 choices in GV which helps somewhat target biggest upgrades. 8 runs unlocks the 3rd.
All the while you are constantly earning crests and flightstones for upgrades.
Killing 2 HC raid bosses is easy and unlocks your first raidslot in GV
Killing 4 is relatively easy and unlocks the 2nd.
Killing 7 can be a beach as smolderon can be pugkiller, but it unlocks the 3rd

There are some very strong items from the raid, especially trinkets.
I believe normal fyrakk drops hero track (upgradable to 483) trinkets. They are rare and everyone is rolling for them, but really worth killing him fo the chance

thanks very good advice. To which extent gear from the last boss, heroic raid, can be upgraded? If the normal one is so upgradable I wonder how the heroic would look like

Most gear from heroic raids in on the heroic upgrade track. The very rare drops (which I guess you have a small chance getting from the vault as well) should be on the myth track.

what ilevel do they have those ? The small drop chance you mentioned

Everything* from normal is on the champion track (454-463), upgradable to 476
Everything* from heroic is on the hero track (467-476), upgradable to 483

The * exceptions in both cases are the ‘very rare’ trinkets from fyrakk (1 for healer, 1 dps, 1 tank).
They drop at:
470 ilvl, on the hero track, upgradable to 483 from normal,
483 ilvl, on the myth track, upgradable to 489 from heroic
