The army gives you an advantage every few minutes only for a moment, but without it we have nothing more. It is not fair when a hunter aimed shot is taken for the entire duration of the fight. Other skills that do much more damage than one army costing a heavy 8 minutes are much more. Really many classes have basic skills that are much better without any penalties.
Mastery hit every aspect of the DK in game. It is not only the smaller of the basic skills, covenant skills, legendary items have also been weakened this way. Really, no other class in this game has been treated as brutally and senselessly as Unholy DK.
Checking the DS tooltip, I have 230ilvl, 46k hp, my DS deals 847 physical damage (lol), Death Coil? 1507 dmg … Scourge Strike? 755 pdmg + 683 sdmg (lol), only the Soul Reaper actually beats reasonably but when it hits full force with full bonus. It is not enough.
We’ve had a hell of a lot of nerfs since beta.
Unholy Pact 8% str at 5% str, Unholy Blight? 5% vs 3% for pets, and the disease itself has also been weakened.
Abomination Limb? -20% mastery,
Swarming Mist? - 20% mastery
Pets? -20% mastery
Reanimated Shambler? - 20% mastery
Phearomones? if not for the weakened animals, this would be an interesting alternative
Deadliest Coil? you have more DC but each of them is weaker because -20% mastery, you also have more armies but each army is weaker because -20% mastery

Exactly, stop drinking and doing other things, get on with making good games. First of all, create the right conditions for developers, such as they need to create something good.

just to clarify, it wasnt 20% flat mastery, it was 20% rating.
if the nerf was reverted u wouldnt go from 50% to 70%, u would go from 50 to 60, and this is without taking into account dimishing returns we will get from stacking secundary stats. and even this wouldnt translate into a flat 10% dmg increase.
back then it was around 4-5% overall nerf, str is still far stronger. and the more str we get the more str we will have from bonus.
unholy needs to have its scaling adressed indeed, our"best" conduit from 226 to 252 only gives a 0.6% increase dmg to pets (not even overall dmg, just pets), its massively underwhelming and not worth the efford to farm the upgrade.
upgrading our conduits almost makes no impact in this tier and thats a big problem

jsut to clarify your wrong my dkl went down from 45 % mastery to 30%
so in taht point it was a 15 % nerf to dmg ITS HUGEEEEE
thats not how mastery nerf went, 15% lower flat mastery does not translate into less 15% dmg, str as a much bigger impact on dk dmg
a 20% rating nerf is calculated like this:
current mastery*(1-0.20)=new mastery
45*0.8=36%
so if u were at 45% then u are left at 36%, so less 9%
correcting myself, back then it was roughly a 7% overall dmg nerf (on the video it was mentioned 5% for 15% lower mastery rating but then nerf increased to 20% after the video release), this is from someone more knowledge than me and probably where the vast majority of the DKs gets their more acurate info.
i lost 15% mastery 15% shadow dmg and pet dmg its not 7% mate
Nerf was cuz Emeni raid mainstat bonus stacking, they won’t nerf the whole soulbind cuz 1 class, so they nerfed DKs. Now DKs have a big problems with scaling. But there is no fixes. Especially its a big hit for PvP where DK have a big pressure problems. Tbh, people was so excited about UDK in PvP, he going good before this nerf. And one day tryhard PvE myth raid WF pusher abuse Emeni stacking and…poooh, thousands of players now suffer. If it was, idk, rogue stacking or Mage stacking or even Warlock stacking - it will be fine. But DK, hell no, DK must be bottom, period.
Feel like there’s some misinformation here, please let me clear it up.
Nerf was actually 20% in the end, the Mastery multiplier went from 2.25 to 1.8. This means that the conversion from mastery points to mastery % was nerfed. When it comes to that conversion, you do ((mastery points / 35) + 8) x 1.8. This means that the actual % was nerfed by 20%. If you had 50% mastery, you’d go down to 40%, 25% mastery → 20% etc…
Most people sit around 50% mastery so I think it’s fair to assume a 10% drop. The majority of our damage is affected by mastery but not all of it, 86% seems to be about right for my specific character. This means that the mastery nerf equates to → (1 + 0.86 * 0.4) / (1 + 0.86 * 0.5) = 0.94 or around 6% damage decrease.
More mastery would result in a larger damage decrease but 6% applies to the majority of people I’d say.
And again i remmber that day they nerfed mastery and i droped 15% mastery

I even asked healer that played 2s with me back then and he said i told him that i lost 15%mastery so its a 100%
Unfortunately without evidence I’m very inclined to not believe you as I haven’t seen a single Unholy DK with full Mythic raiding gear let alone PVP gear which is normally Vers dominant, have anywhere near 100% mastery
