Hey, just wanted to ask which I should roll dps-wise when recently hitting 80 and basically working up from leveling gear. I’m not asking which spec for solocontent, just which one performs better in 5mans at very low to mid gear levels.

I’m not really a specialist on the class, but all of our dps DKs were unholy in phase 1.
It really doesn’t matter, both Unholy and Frost are very good. You should play the one you want, Unholy is more popular as it’s stronger but Frost may be more friendly for your dungeon grinding experience.
Unholy is strong because of very specific gameplay around maximising the Gargoyle, which some people love and others hate. Just play what you like tho, DK is the best dps in the game right now.

Also one more question, should I pop gargoyle before or after bloodlust ideally?
gargoyle doesn’t snap anymore, it receives your buffs as you have them, so pop your garg, wait a second (he’s slow to hover in) then pop your juicer buttons. Having heroism up for its full duration is great, having it out before heroism is not good.
bicepspumps youtube channel has a video on the opener, but like Relichunter says gargoyle doesn’t snapshot your stats nowadays.
you can macro in empower ghoul with gary and even a potion
watch a couple of bicepspumps youtube videos and you’ll be bursting 300k+ in no time.
