Rated battlegrounds are dead. They have been for some time, and in large part that’s because there is no incentive to do them. It takes a lot of effort to get together 10 people for an RBG team (9 times as much effort as finding one other person for 2v2). If you actually want this to be a mode of PvP that people enjoy, you have to provide incentives for people to do them beyond the same rewards that you get from 2v2. One option in SL would be to increase the number of end-of-week vault options available to you if you do a certain number of rated BGs. Another would be to have a separate currency for RBGs with unique rewards.
Obviously, if you hate RBGs then you might not like this option, but for those of us who would love to do more forms of PvP, revitalising RBGs would be very welcome.
I think solo queue arenas make sense because your impact on the game as part of a 2 or 3 person team is very significant. Solo queue rated BGs could quickly be incredibly difficult to progress through given that you’re only 10% of the team. Most of the variability in your own rating will be dominated by the abilities of your team mates rather than your own. There is still an element of that in solo queue 2v2 or 3v3, of course, but it takes far less time to overcome random variance when you make up 50% or 33% of the team, as opposed to only 10%.
It takes time to orginize 10 People (not like 2v2).
Pvp gear and drop rate is soooo much lower than the pve.
Sometimes rated bgs take as much time as mythic 15, but reward low ilvl no matter the rate.
Also one mythic 15 and you are chest capped for the week with guarantee 475 reward from the chest.
