I’m interested in having some opinion on which class would be the best to lvl up to 70? I’m planning to do casual dungeons, LfR, legacy content (raids, mog/mount/achievements), lore master, etc, so nothing competitive, only casual titbits. Maybe RP too later on.
I know Druid would be a popular option, however I’m not really keen on being a furry and I generally don’t really enjoy their play style. At least I didn’t really back in WotLK when I was more actively involved with the game.
There’s other viable options but because you want to do legacy content as a main activity you should pick something with unlimited instant cast ranged abilities. It will dramatically speed up legacy content farming.
I’m not familar with Evoker yet so I’m not sure how good they are with moving and attacking at the same time. They won’t have as much to collect in legacy content though.
Yeah, I know Druids are very good at this, I’m just not into the furry thing and their play style is not really for me
I’ll have a look at BM hunters (saw a lot of moaning over mail sets and how ugly they are )
With rogues my only issue is that I’m afraid they are too squishy I had one back in BC and WotLK, but I found it squishy to play with it or do solo things (especially elites), it could be different now
Prot paladin sounds like a very stable idea considering the heal it can do!
I am not 100% sure how DKs are nowadays, but DKs in the previous expansions always used too be my go too when farming old content.
Although they don’t have any Tier sets below WOTLK, if you are farming for transmogs/achievements in that manner.
With the right talents they have a 50% health heal with a cooldown that is reduced as you attack but that’s largely only for panic moments. You can effectively heal your pet constantly, which will be tanking for you (you have to manually turn their taunt back on when you enter group instances, when doing them solo). A lot of the time you won’t even take any damage because you have a personal tank.
You should use a core hound for soloing with BM. You’d think that using a tenacity pet is better but it’s not. The core hound has a special shield skill and leeches health. They also provide more DPS than other pets, when soloing, because they reflect damage. That leech + shield makes it way more tanky than a tenacity pet. In AOE situations the pet’s leech is insane. The leech also helps you passively gain health too.
If your pet dies you pop turtle shell to become immune to damage and res your pet.
Some raids require you to split up bosses, the pet allows you to do that solo. Pet tanks one, you aggro and drag the other away. Most other classes can’t do this. Legion: Trial of Valor Raid has one of those encounters, for example.
You kind of convinced me to go with BM hunter I didn’t know they have that much of healing actually, I’ll give it a go to see how it feels like to play one!
Wouldn’t they be too squishy? That’s my only problem as I won’t be doing mythic stuff in DF so I won’t be that overly geared hardcore geek
Well, you got tons of mobility and good leech so it isn’t too squishy, and if you do find content that maybe bit too hard for Havoc, you got a tank spec, and it does decent enough DPS as well!
I mained a DH since i started playing WoW, it was the class that actually got me into the game, i even spend my boost on it back just to get it immediately
-Retribution paladin, if you are into shiny animations and kinghty look. Easy rotation, impactful utility speels, 3 possible role, excellent survival skill.
-Frost death knight, kinda the same, if you are more into skulls and dark themed look.
-Warrior for no magical shiny stuff at all. Arms is a slower gameplay, focusing more on building up big blows, while fury is much faster, faceroll on the keyboard to slash everything around you. I prefer warrior for world content, due to the extreme mobility between mobs, thanks for the 2 charges and the heroic leap, plus extremely sarisfying to pull them together and pop rektstorm. You also got a decent selfheal after each killed mob.
I didn’t label anything, I only said it’s not my style to shapeshift all over the place - I mailed resto Druid during WotLK just because I could go around like an idiot while putting out decent heal. But as resto I can’t really do much hitting stuff.
That sounds promising as well, although I might need to see the customisation for them also the play style. I might give a go to BM, DH and Paladins just to see which feels better for me
