I mean there’s the kinds of things where you can reasonably argue that it could be taught. Like Human Druids.
And then there are the cases where it’s just fully “ok what?” because the race is simply physically incapable of it. This would include Tauren Rogue. In any logical universe that is just plain impossible.
As big animals can be very sneaky - as more muscle and mass doesn’t mean you are clumsy at all. Think tigers, gorillas and bears. They can all easily sneak in their environments. Now add that World of Warcraft got magical innate abilities. The reason a Rogue can stealth everywhere, is not only a matter of skill and ability, it is close to magical power in nature. A rogue can be in the room and in plain sight, yet you would not notice before he wanted you to.
So why couldn’t a Tauren specialise in stealth, tools, assassination or being an outlaw?
It only looks funny, because we think of stealth as the ingame mechanic of watching this big burly boy standing behind a twig being “hidden” as funny. In lore though, I see no reason why it would not work.
My point being, a Tauren rogue could work with the lore. A Draneii falling from grace could of course happen, yet it would no longer be a Draneii. Then you got Lightforged…
Well, anything goes, the Jailer did affect the very fabrics of creation itself. So, hey - just brace yourselves for Lightforged Mecha-Vulpera Demon Hunters.
You are mentioning carnivores which have a need to be stealthy. Bovines do not.
Tauren are not cows though, but they certainly have the weight of one and they have that weight on two legs and those legs have hooves. Every representation of a Tauren up until this point is a giant hunk, the land literally quaking beneath their feet.
On top of that their culture is deeply and fundamentally incompatible with sneaking. They put a ton of stock in honour and direct confrontation.
It is culturally and biologically a complete misfit and everybody knew this for 20 years until suddenly nobody cares about anything anymore and now it’s fine. Apparently.
It’s like the community just gave up and Blizzard are all about defying expectations right now in ideological grounds so they’re just gleefully going along butchering the gameworld’s cool factor.
Having all races able to be all classes is like wanting a halal pork sausage roll. Its just not there.
If we want each race to be able to have the playstyle of every class, then we might have luck. Paladins with dark-themed animations, for example.
Otherwise, why are you playing WoW if you don’t care about the lore? You cared enough to not pick the current Warlock, Paladin, Monk, whatever playable races.
That is a brilliant idea they could do a simmilar thing with void elves where they purge themselves of the void magic and become a true high elf. Or to make this even better they could create an option on void elf that says un tainted by the void. This would be a high elf and given new racials with this choice.
All the worst people in history had a full bonnet, so no. I think Bald looks cool and honest. Most hairstyles are a tragedy, especially those “I just got out of bed” look nonsense most lads have today
I am all for giving players as much as options to play around as possible
BUT
the lore nerd in me gets hives just thinking Lightforged Draeneis as Warlocks…
It kinda also takes away from the race and class fantasy. For evoker for example, I hope it will always be 100% Drachtyr class. It works and fits that race perfectly and seeing gnome or orc fly and breathing fire would just be weird, but if Dracthyr could be warrior or Mage it would not be so out of place.
Back in vanilla I liked the idea that Alliance was the Light side with paladins and horde had Shamans, it just fit the lore and gave both sides their unique little feel.
As much as I despise the new lizards in wow, your hope is already dashed. They will eventually give everyone else your uniqueness and you’ll become as generic as every other race
Ye and it makes me really sad… Not because I am fan of lizardbois, but because it is indeed unique class/race combo. If Blizzard ever would bring Warden class to the game I wish it would only be for NightElves, and even maybe only as females, not because I like them but it is what they are in lore and that would be cool as hell
There is nothing in lore that suggests draenei and lightforged can’t be warlocks, and I tried hard to find this. Warlocks are not evil by the way, confirmed numerous times by blizzard in class hall story, greenfire quest, ritssyn is present in heritage orc questline and talks about it too.
Anyway why I try to reason people y’all have your own convenient headcannons in your head
