Hey,
I have unlocked both achievements ( Rustbolt Rebellion & The Mechagonian Threat) needed for MechaGnomes allied race on my Horde character.
Unfortunately my lvl 50 Alliance character seems to be unable to unlock them even though Blizzard claims that : “If this character has not unlocked Mechagon Island, you can head to the Alliance Embassy in Stormwind and Gila Crosswires will have the quest “Fame Waits For Gnome One” which will lead the character through the Mechagon Island unlock process which then leads to the mechagnome unlock questline. If you are in this situation, you will not need to go to Nazjatar.(…)”
as that npc - Gila - is nowhere to be found at that Embassy. I tried to relog, remove all addons, waited a few days and still nothing.
What am I missing?
“The Mechagon story line and Rustbolt Resistance reputation (no longer needed tough) can be completed on either Alliance or Horde characters. However, the unlock scenario must be completed on an Alliance character. If you have done these achievements on a Horde character, you will then need to login on a level 120 Alliance character.”
That’s correspond to my current situation…
It shouldn’t be related. The NPC in Boralus should be by the fountain or by the embassy in SW.
I presume you couldn’t pick up the urgent care quest in either location?
There is a script to check your progress which has had some odd results for some
/run local q={58214,57486,57487,57488,57490,57491,57492,57493,57494,57496,57495,57497} for i=1,12 do local s = C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(q[i]) and "Done" or "Not done" print(i, "-", q[i], ": ", s) end
I found this in the comments for the quest I linked above.
@Antygona: There are apparently some circumstances that can cause Stormwind to be in a wrong phase to do certain things. I am not sure whether these apply to your character, but I am going to ask anyway…
Has the character in question acquired Heart of Azaroth?
Also, has the character been to Kul Tiras (either by playing through introductory quests or skipping them through NPC)?
Any chance that you could be in a wrong time line, in other words has the character visited Chromie and/or picked up introductory quests for earlier expansions?
Thank you for your time to help me pass through that obstacle!
She has her Heart of Azeroth (lvl 15) and she has done some Kul Tiras quests (War Campaign 6/25 chapters).
She is an old character and was sitting at lvl 120 almost since the beginning of BfA so I haven’t used Chromie with her.
Its really strange that NOONE knows the answer, that article didnt work for me either. That say look for Kelsey Steelspark at Boralus but nowhere to be found.
Thank you for all replies and hints - I combed literally the whole city of Boralus and couldn’t find any npc willing to send me for that quest.
edit: I leveled up hastily another Alliance to lvl 50 and … nothing. She can’t see that npc either (neither in SW nor in Boralus).
edit: I had to unlock Nazjatar, then unlock World Quests there and then Gnomish copter popped up with a “Fame Waits For Gnome One” quest. Seems like the beginning of a Mechagon Achiev tough…
edit2: My lvl 50 Alliance is doing exactly the same activities as Horde version… seems I will need to repeat the whole Achievement again…
have you picked up the Quest from the Gnome next to the flightmaster in Boralus? follow the quest and then do the intial quests for the Prince. Then you should be able pick a quest to save Mekkatorque.I had the same issue as you descipe ,there was no quest giver in the embassy but I found him next to the flight master
I had to actually complete War campaigns up to Nazjatar, then quests in Nazjatar…
The gnome appeared in a copter in Nazjatar, then she waited for me in Boralus next to the Flight Master, and then I had to actually redo the whole achievement again.
I just finished it and right now I have the “Urgent Care” in Boralus.
So completing an Achievement on Horde side was a waste of time (even tough it was fun as all goblin-ish quests).
