I was only able to obtain one Fractured Spark of Fortunes normally; the other two were from the mission you mentioned. I didn’t get the second Fractured Spark of Fortunes that is obtained weekly, despite completing absolutely all the content for that week. Because of this, a GM gave me the missing Fractured Spark of Fortunes so I could craft my 2H weapon.
Additionally, they assured me that I wouldn’t have this issue again and that I would be able to obtain my 5 Fractured Spark of Fortunes, but that wasn’t the case. Two resets have passed since then, and I’m still stuck at 4 Fractured Spark of Fortunes, and you’re saying there’s no bug?
To be honest, it is questioned whether it is really a bug or a misunderstanding, how can it be a misunterstanding when people don’t get their Sparks.
I got two fractured Sparks in Week 2 (one from this week and one from catch-up), then the Bug happend with A Sparkling Fortune, after completing this buggy Quest, i have not received a SINGLE fractured Spark… since this is no little bug (and no misunderstanding), Blizzard have to get into this ASAP.
And immediately implying it’s a misunderstanding. It’s congruent to the GM replies to tickets urging you to do the pinnacle quest after lining out in the ticket how you’ve done the pinnacle quest.
“Don’t post a ticket - we can’t fix this issue. Post a bug report” - I’ve done at least twice over the course of the last 15+ days.
“Is there even an issue” - "maybe it’s a “misunderstanding” - of what exactly?
Everyone should have had the ability to earn 3 Sparks (6 Fractured Sparks) at this point - you have dozens of (probably more) people telling you in every way that is possible that despite exhausting all available routes - they are unable to EARN Fractured Sparks at all, from any content - they are stuck on 4. How is that a misunderstanding? If you mean the game THINKS we’ve all earned 3 Sparks when we haven’t - then that’s a bug, right? If our characters have lost the ability to earn Fractured Sparks, that also sounds like a bug, or the game not working how it’s meant to.
I’m sure if this issue related to us being unable to spend money in the store, it would magically have fixed itself weeks ago.
Just get it sorted, please. It’s madness that a clear issue, impacting a central pillar of player progression and power is being treated like it might not even exist at all - if it wasn’t sad and annoying - it would be hilarious.
On the character Kwyerwud-Silvermoon I have only received a total of 4x Fractured Sparks of Fortune. I have converted the 4 of them into 2x Sparks of Fortune, using 1 to craft an offhand and the 2nd is in my inventory. I should have had 6x Fractured Sparks of Fortune by now, which is the case for my in-game friends and my alts.
I was affected by the "A Sparkling Fortune’ bug and 1 Fractured Spark of Fortune was given to me, bringing me to a total of 4 on Kwyerwud.
I have executed /run a=C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(3132) print(“You have earned " … a.quantity … " of " … a.maxQuantity … " possible " … a.name …” .") and it returns 4 Fractured Sparks of Fortune, which is consistent with what my in-game friends are reporting, the same ones who have 6x Fractured Sparks of Fortune.
Sorry to be a pain but could you please have a look? It is early in the new season and an upgraded weapon would be very welcomed at this time!
Others are having this problem and Blizzard Customer Support has acknowledged this as a bug that the devs are aware of, but no ETA on a fix.
And yes, I have checked my reagent bags, my main bags, my bank, my reagent bank, I didn’t accidentally make and vendor a crafted item (checked Item Restore!) - no Fractured, no Spark. Thanks in advance!
My alt character got all sparks, my main character stuck on 4/6 sparks, I did all the weekly quests, worldsoul quest, delves, the 100 disc quest, even PVP quest, yet still nothing. Can we fix this finnally please, or at least send to my character?
I am really not sure if you are serious, but claiming that might be “a misunderstanding” really feels insulting after posting all that here.
I have one char - one among 60, I am sure you can look up my account - who is missing the spark. And it happens to be one of the chars I actually care playing.
And it happens to be exactly that char where the “sparkling fortune” took two instead of one half spark, as you have already internally confirmed by sending me that missing spark.
But I also did not get a fractured spark in the last two ids, not through the pinnacle quest, or through any other of the random means ON THIS ONLY CHAR.
So claiming there still might be a “misunderstanding” somewhere in there feels really insulting, offensive even.
Btw, the result of the macro on that char is “You have earned 0 of 4 possible Fractured Spark of Fortunes” - but that’s exactly the same as it says on other chars that actually have 3 full sparks by now.
My main character is also affected by this bug. I can’t remember if either A Golden Circumstance or A Sparkling Fortune ever took more than 1 fractured spark from me. What I do know is that I have only received 4 fractured sparks overall, and after completing every weekly available to me apart from the pvp ones and also doing a large number of mythic + dungeons, I have not received a spark this week. I have submitted a bug report.
Thank you for testing the macro! Unfortunately, there may be an issue if it is returning 0 as a result. I can confirm that your character is currently at 4/4 with this currency, which means that you should have obtained 4 drops + 2 from the two quests.
I’ve removed the macro from my previous answer to avoid causing more confusion, if it’s not working correctly for some people.
We’ve verified that some people in this very thread (if you read my previous messages), as well several players who contacted game masters via a ticket (and who claimed to be missing Fractured Sparks), were in fact not missing any at the time that they reported having an issue.
We’ve also verified that some players appeared to be missing a Fractured Spark due to a bug with the quest A Sparkling Fortune, which had been confirmed by our developers.
And finally, we’ve seen some players who appear to be stuck in their weekly progress, and are not receiving new Fractured Sparks despite completing their weekly activities. We currently do not have a solution for this. If we believed that all players reporting this issue were mistaken, or misunderstood how the system worked, we would have said so, and we would have explained the source of the confusion.
Our developers are currently investigating different causes, but no bug has been confirmed so far (and because I have to say it every time, it’s not because a bug isn’t confirmed, that it doesn’t exist - it simply means that a bug has to be reproduced internally / found before it can be fixed).
TLDR: Our developers are still investigating this issue. If you believe that you’re affected, please do keep reporting it (be it on the forums, or via the in-game tool), and please do provide as much information as possible.
I find it hard to understand how this bug has not been found yet. Even if this is not reproducible internally, it seems to me that with a few checks it should be possible to “confirm” that certain characters are affected by this bug with the following steps.
Confirm how many fractured sparks a player has received by looking at the number of crafted items they have in addition to the number of sparks or fractured sparks they have in their inventory or bank.
Confirm if a character has completed a weekly quest for a pinnacle cache.
It seems to me the above two steps are not hard. I also understand that they might not be completely sufficient to absolutely 100% confirm the bug exists because a player might have deleted a crafted item or not opened the pinnacle cache despite having completed the quest, but it’s incredibly unlikely that this is the case especially if you have multiple characters that are identified by the above two steps.
Game development is hard and I understand that users don’t always appreciate the complexities involved or how difficult it is to track down bugs. Some of the outrage in this thread I would imagine is down to how easy it appears on the surface to confirm that this bug exists vs the reticence of blizzard posters in this chat to recognise that it does exist.
If you can verify who is and who isn’t affected, why are you not sending out sparks to people who are? The only misunderstanding here is the misunderstanding that paying a monthly fee on top of an expansion purchase for a game would get you better customer support than a completely free to play game, which has yet to be the case.
You keep repeating this “formula” without providing any solution. Do i have to wait untill next expansion, week or month to get my spark? I don’t really care what your developers has to do, it’s not my fault nor my problem. I would like to get same amount of sparks as everyone.
Thank you for your response, but I don’t see how difficult it can be to verify what I wrote in my ticket and patiently explained several times now:
My affected char - Nertal-Blackhand - has completed the pinnacle quests in the last two weeks. I am sure you can very simply verify that.
And then you can very easily find out that he did not receive a fractured spark in either of the two previous weeks - apart from the one that was sent by the GM after the quest bugged out.
So you can see that the char currently has 4 fractured sparks - or two full sparks - that are built into it’s weapon.
What else would you (or the developers) need to verify my claims and simply manually fix the issue by sending the sparks by mail? It’s been two weeks by now.
I don’t actually care when you fix the issue that was causing it, I care about fixing the symptom as soon as possible as this matters now and not in six weeks.
Making posts won’t help. Making a bug report ingame will go straight to the people who can actually fix it. Make the bug report as detailed as possible because they will need to reproduce it to fix it.
