Unobtainable recipes

Dear Blizzard,

Please make it possible to learn profession recipes that are currently unobtainable, or delete them from the unlearned recipes tab.

For a lot of players completing collections is a big part of the game, you must realise this because you have made a collections tab. By leaving recipes visable in the unlearned tab that are impossible to learn, you make it an impossible job to complete, and it is really annoying. I don’t care which fix you go with, but please stop leaving things visable but unachievable.

Examples i’m aware of (i assume there are more):

Goldthorn Tea in Cooking
Raptor Hide Harness in Leatherworking (for Alliance)
Raptor Hide Belt in Leatherworking (for Horde)

Thanks, rant over

EDIT

Just to clarify, I’m not asking Blizz to take these recipes away from people that already have them. I’m asking that they no longer look like you can get them, or add them back into the game like they have done with some timewalking vendors.

But… Rants are made in-game via the feedback tool, not on the forums. The forum staff are not developers, so can’t do anything with feedback posted on the forums.

I say no to this, 100% no. The “I can’t get it so it no one should have it” attitude is despicable.

But it’s not what they’re asking. Even if they didn’t word it correctly, I understand. They want stuff that are no longer obtainable to be hidden from the list of “stuff you don’t have but can get”, Which is what usually happens. There are some items that Blizzard probably missed, like the aforementioned goldthorn tea.

Wouldn’t that mean they are also removed from the learned recipes list since they are linked.

To removing it from one would mean removing it from the game.

They did start adding some recipes to the TW vendors for various expansions, they could expand on that and add more things.

Or simply fix the collections tabs.

No, there are plenty of old recipes that don’t appear in the recipes list (mainly because they lack a source). A good example is all the leatherworking recipes that require Deviate Scales. I’m pretty sure that people who have said recipes can still make those.

Goldthorn Tea for example, the game says the source is an NPC named Henry Stern, even though said NPC is not in the game anymore.

A better example might be mounts. Mounts that are no longer obtainable are generally removed from the mount list of those who don’t have them as to not confuse players.

Not what i meant, i’m all for limited time items, i have several myself. I just want Blizzard to stop making it look like you can still get those things when you cant. That isn’t the same thing as taking it away from people that do have it.

A lot of those recipes are still available, for instance I have the deviate scale belt recipe on a character, not the ability to make it but the actual recipe. So technically it is still available, same for a lot of the others.

You may not be able to buy the recipe from a vendor but the AH can have them rarely so they shouldn’t be removed from the list.

I agree those that were trainable from a leatherworking trainer only for example should be removed but those that still have a chance to be learned, however slim should stay.

Well too late for that, there haven’t been any Deviate Scale recipes in there for quite a while now.
