Unobtainable things on WotLK Pre-Patch?

I’m too late to the party due to playing retail too much, still not even lvl’ed a char to 70. So with Wrath coming this year, probably at end of year (pre-patch will be even sooner) are there things that will become totally unobtainable? If someone knows a list of them I’ll greatly appreciate.

All Naxx lvl60 loot, Zul Aman bear, T5/T6 attunement titles (unless you have the quest, it just can’t be picked up new). Blacksmithing specialisations also get removed I think in WOTLK, so if you want Dragonstrike/Stormherald for keeps sake then make them now.

Wotlk will come sooner than end of year. Last tbc-phase is out already - next one is the wotlk prepatch.
Personally I think wotlk will be in August.

Onyxia attunement quest chain was also removed when WOTLK launched due to being related to the absence of King Varian on Stormwind. Due to him returning at the start of WOTLK and from the point of view of the Lore, he was the one who killed Onyxia when he returned, it made no sense to keep that quest chain. Horde attunement quest chain was not removed, not even after level 60, Onyxia was replaced with level 80 Onyxia.

Depending on how WOTLK is implemented, all loot from Level 60 Onyxia, including Quel’serrar quests, will be removed once the Classic WOTLK launches.

Level 60 Onyxia was replaced by level 80 Onyxia on patch 3.2, but Blizzard will make the new version based on the last patch of WOTLK, 3.3.5a, using the data from that patch. And there is a change there is no data from level 60 Onyxia to migrate to Classic WOTLK.

Of course, level 80 Onyxia won’t be at the launch in Classic WOTLK, but unless Blizzard do the effort to keep level 60 Onyxia data from Classic or Classic TBC to have it available before the phase when the WOTLK version is added, there is a good chance that they took the easy path and keep the raid closed until then,

Is a pity because one of the good memories I had during WOTLK was soloing old raids and dungeons as Protection Paladin, and Onyxia was one of the raids I could solo. Solo old raids and dungeons were funnier back in expansions as WOTLK or Cataclysm than now in retail when you one-shot most bosses without no challenge.

I suppose as soon as WOTLK Beta is available will find out what will happen to Onyxia.

Also, a minor small detail was removed with WOTLK Pre-Patch. There was a small Alliance quest chain involving traveling in the boat between Menethil Harbor and Auberdine but given that boat was relocated to Stormwind the quests were removed. Is not a big thing but there it is.

I forgot about Onyxia, I used to solo that every week on my Shaman in WOTLK until the lvl80 version was added. But yeah we’d be likely on patch 3.3.5 so I guess its up in the air what happens to that.

people still do naxx runs tho? i kinda wanna farm t3 after i hit 70.

On Firemaw literally each and every day (Alliance)

Yes on my server is every second day Naxx raids.

Anything can happen if shareholders would like to undercut some new competitors release date, like it was with premature TBC launch in July 2021 vs New World and Classic SoM vs FF XIV xpack in November 2021. However different sites had started showing related products to Wrath, like new books and collectioning items with availability dates no sooner than October 18th, so all that shows that Wrath can be launched around October 13 2022 on 14th anniversary.

If you really are serious about t3 I advice you buying t3 token quests turn in items. After looting tier token in Naxx you must go to Light’s hope Chapel and turn in token, some materials looted from Naxx trash mobs, depending on your tier armor type (cloth, leather, mail or plate) as well as some classic crafting materials like moon cloth (for cloth armor), nexus crystals or other classic trade goods to get your class tier piece.

While trade goods will be accessible in Wrath I doubd that turn in quests will be. But the pieces of materials from trash are more important as there is always more tokens than trash items to turn them all in, especially plate scraps as there is way to many paladins and warriors in those runs.

The runs I attended to were for Atiesh splitters HR and the rest was on roll. Items for quest turn in from trash were distributed after the run via request in RL discord. They had always many leather pieces, a bit of mail, very few or none cloth and plate was reserved in advance for several previous runs, mainly by players of their own guild.

Trash items for quest turn in are not soulbound and can be traded just like crafting items. If they will not be available on auction the safest way would probably be getting tokens first, and then farming the trash with 10 or less people (depending on gear), because in last 2 months GDKP will have mad price tags for these tokens and their quest components.

P.S. Naxxramas requires attunement quest that costs some of material and requires certain amount of Argent Dawn reputation acquired in Western and Eastern Plague lands, Shalomance and Stratholme instances. Depending on your reputation level the cost of attunement will get cheaper, but I advice buying all mats the sooner the better. Materials for that may get insanely expensive in the last weeks of TBCC.

i didnt know about this, thank you for the information

ye i will start as soon as i get 70, even tho i didnt plan to do any tbc content (im just prepping for wotlk) but i assume that i need decent gear to be invited for those runs right? i dont know how difficult is naxx in tbc.

Think you mean pre-patch, since wrath was actually launched on November 13

I had done it around January in 4 pieces of t5 as an arcane Mage. With 20 ppl we managed to clear 3 wings in 2,5 hours. With 35 ppl we cleared all raid and there was around 4 lvl 60-s (alts from RL guild as well as majority of geared players) and 15 players were pre raid/Karazhan geared, judging by dps/healing.
