Unpopular opinion of a 4k io meaningless score player about the corruption system

Yes, because for the vast majority of people this is true lol… People aren’t magically “performing better” they just have the corruption that gives that illusion.

Dude… I’m not saying those at the top are there because of corruption. I said people who weren’t close to 3kio last season (which is far from top) are easily achieving that this season due to their corrupted items. I timed a few 20-21 keys last season on several characters and there is definitely a noticeable difference in difficulty between keys then and now.

Does it not alarm you that we’re only one month or so into the season and people are already timing 24s? Highest last season timed was 25…

Corruption is too strong. And yes, a lot of people are able to do 20s now because they have strong corruption.

But those people also went like 25-30ilvls lower, 30 ilvl is quite a lot, so it would make sense, it was like that always…

While it might be far from top, from whole m+ crowd how many got 3k, like 10% at best?

Scaling? Hello???

Plus, we’re actually LOWER ilvl this season (scaling) since the removal of titanforging. Those people timing 24s aren’t even 470 ilvl yet…

What scaling? Dungeons became stronger and so did we, so basicly we are doing same as last season…

Idk who u watch, but i doubt there is party of 460s doing 24s…

It really is saddening to see this zoomer generation who are so used to getting guaranteed wins from smartphones ruin a game that has, from the start, been about competitiveness. BFA is a testament to what happens when competitiveness is taken away from the game and Blizzard attempts to force so much randomness to everything that “HEY WE’RE ALL THE SAME IT DOESNT MATTER JUST BE HAPPY” that everyone just stops playing.

You’re not wrong, but to me, WoW has always been at it’s best when it struck a balance between accessable content for everyone and challenge for those who seek it. WoW has not been about competativeness from the start. When it came out, it was THE Casual MMO. It just so happened to also include Challenging content for those who wanted it. And that content has only increased over time. Let’s not forget the HC Dungeons of BC. When they were introdiced, they were just as hard as M+ is now. HC raiding since wrath, Mythic since WoD (I know, technically since MoP but the Balancing was all over the place there so let’s not split hairs), Mythic Dungeons since WoD, M+ since Legion. And PvP can be as hard as you want it to be ever since the Arena.

The Corruption System, to me, poses much of the same problems the Legion Legendaries did. Aquisition sucks a*s and the difference between those who have their BiS ones and those who don’t can be staggering at times. It should never be on BoE’s, ESPECIALLY Raid BoE’s which can be 475. And yet, in a Month or two, things will even out.
That doesn’t make the aquisition good by any means. But at least there’s a light at the end of the tunnel

Almost as funny as watching wow slowly go into f2p territory.
Subs are down by what was it? 64% in the report?

What saddens me is that the dumbest people on the planet keep replying to my posts. I’ve been playing this game since 2005 and back then nobody gave a damn about competitiveness. Nobody gave a damn about world first races, dungeons were something to get lost in, PVP was all about grinding and nothing was balanced.

Since then more and more competitive aspects were added to the game, both in PVP and PVE, where M+ added another layer of competitiveness since Legion. Now game design has to be planned around world first races and MDI, by nerfing interesting talents/abilities, removing ML, limiting the effects of items and consumables, etc. all in the name of balance. The text “only usable in X” doesn’t exist in vanilla.

Lol look at raiderio… some of the dps who’ve timed 24s aren’t even 470 yet

I don’t understand how this relates to what I said. I said highest timed last season was 25s and people are already timing 24s wishout even hitting 470 ilvl. That alone shows that corruption is very strong…

Okej dude, keep on your rant about how strong coruptions are and how they do 70% of your overal…

…and still we have NO TOKENS to purchase gear, this is ridiculous.
Imagine if Visions rewarded us with tokens with which we could purchase corrupted gear with a random corruption effect.
Visions, M+, Raids should give us some corrupted tokens for which we could buy corrupted gear. Problem solved, playerbase would feel satisfied and rewarded for effort!

Now…no, no that would be too predictable and too easy right? No element of surprise nor anything!
Gotta make it all RNG. (this is sarcasm)

Dudes and dudettes miracles can happen. Just take a quick look at my new ring I just got from mechagon workshop. It only took me ~45 M+ runs to get FIRST corrupted item and luckily it was a good one:P

I put my bucks on this:

If you get some rank 3 bis corruption for your spec in your m+ chest in the coming weeks we will not hear much about this from you again.

And when/if the nerf comes for that specific corruption.

You will whine on the forums about it getting nerfed.

I like your belts ilevel even more.

I tried to push my M+ key last weekend and people whispered me what kind of corruptions they have lol. It annoys me because it devalues classes and skill completely.
Corruptions are fun to play around with if you get good items but overall, it’s VERY unhealthy for the game.

Saying blizz “fixed” the system so that a few WFR whales buy like $2k worth of tokens is an EXTREMELY far-fetched idea

Well you haven’t brought up any explanation in order to provide a better argumentative explanation than me.

If not that then…incompetence? Stupidity? Laziness? Simple and plainly they don’t care about their players one bit?

I’d say incompetence much quicker than rigging the game to gain a few thousands bucks from tokens. Higher ups dont understand game design, low level people are demotivated and overworked. They don’t have enough QA staff (they fired them last year), so now they just wing content and then do random changes to things that are obviously wrong… from time to time.

I strongly believe they just cut too much resources from QA and can’t afford to test their content properly before release, nor do they have enough people to make sure there’s no loopholes in the systems (like introducing corruptions but forgetting to disable them in BOEs, or capes dropping from M+, or trinkets dropping in m+ caches). So they just release and hope for the best.

edit: I also wanted to add that this is very corporate-like behaviour, if you’ve worked in a corporation you know. Issues get discussed on a quarterly basis, minutes are written down, but people never follow up on processes they implement. This causes things like an intiative being rolled out, only to get abandoned the next month (because nobody is following up on the person that’s in charge of making sure the new process happens). Next quarter rolls around, next meeting happens, they follow up once, and abandon the cause for the next quarter. Rinse and repeat.
