I started to play end-game Demolock one month ago and despite the obvious lack of passives and so many hard-casts I have to say I kinda like the spec.
Given what devs said regarading the unpruning (making the class/spec feeling more real and not taking away many abilities) I really want to know why in the world demolocks have corruption as an active spell. Whats the point ? There is no synergy whatsoever with the spec, it has very weak damage and it is another hard-cast spell.
I mean, Demolock really needs more positive changes other than recent buffs to legendaries, but leaving corruption, in current state, to make warlock feel like a warlock is really pointless.
I would love to see some synergy with the spec and the spell. I dont know, but maybe make doom baseline instead of corruption. Or make it insta-cast at least. Maybe add the effect of increasing damage from your demons when corruption is active. Make something meaningful with it. It just really troubles my mind seeing a completely useless spell in your spellbook. I think that some type of meaningful DoT damage spell has a place in Warlocks toolkit. Do you guys agree ?
I dont understand why there are some spells in this game that does not even have to be placed on your action bar. I am asking again, what is the point of having corruption, in current state, for demo ?
My suggestion to the devs of this game, make it somehow worthy for Demolocks too.
Corruption is a useless spell and for unknow reason is baseline for all 3 spec, with a huge cast time for destro and demo. I don’t want corruption for demo and destro, sincerely. Coprruption is only in my bar as affliction.
Need some other tweak to demonology and some unpruning, like istant cast. The spec have potential for me. I play necrolord demon bolt build + doggy
Demo need to be on par with rest of classes in terms of amount of active and passive effects.
4+ active spells, 8-9+ passive spells.
We have 14 demoniology speciefic spells, while fire mages have 27, frost and arcane 26+, DH 29, WW 33 and etc.
Bilescourge bombers, vilefiend, power siphon and Nether portal(reworked) as baseline).
And frak tons of passives just to balace spec in gameplay perspective.
Blizz can’t balance current demonology with numbers, no matter how big these numbers will be, it still be trowned under the bus by gameplay issues.
I have given up trying to rationalize blizz’s class design decisions. They just don’t make sense.
On topic, I fully agree. Since it’s baseline for all 3 specs, it should then enhance a given spec in a unique way.
I play demo and we got a lot of splash dmg (implosion, hog, dreadbite, bladestorm) which is a problem on Bolstering weeks. Funneling all the ST dmg is just not enough. How about when you corrupt the target, that target takes X% extra dmg from Y/Z ability as OP mentioned, and make it a unique spell like curses are so that we arent forced to boringly put corruption on every target.
