đŸŽ„ Unreal Engine 5 : Imagine if WoW was made on UE5

They have mostly improved the definition and the texture they use for the “paper”. Everything else is the same. But in the beginning it was 4:3 SD video and now it is 16:10 FHD. That’s the main difference. And I think in 2019 they remastered the old seasons on the SP website, making them in 1080p 16:10 and they look just as good as the new episodes.

I watch the entire show at least twice a year, it’s background noise to me. I know South Park inside and out.

The guy in the second videos thumbnail looks incredibly realistic.

Problem is that your pc needs to be so good that allot of wow players and gamers in general won’t be able to play it.

Yes same. It is ageless. Where many other mmo’s and games look ugly and dated today. Wow looks great. Even classic looks bearable compared to “realistic” games of that era.

Not sure the UE is really an engine built with MMOs in mind.

I remember hearing a lot of bad stuff about MMOs running on UE3.

Unreal Engine 4 games melt my PC

UE 5? No ty.

WoW is very optimised right now, so anyone can play. If it was on UE you’d need an awesome PC. Not saying I’m against these graphics, and maybe in the future WoW will look so real! That would be totally awesome! Even VR
imagine exploring azeroth, when it looks real, in VR. That would be insane! Maybe one day it will become an option xD

UE doesn’t work for wow .

Bots / multiboxers wouldn’t play it , that’s 30% of players base .

Regular players won’t invest 1,5k+ euro or even more to run UE .

A lot of players love the drawn stuff / cartoonish designs it fits wow fantasy .

Technically they would need nasa servers to host UE for open world .

I don’t think you would have 5% of the players that wow has right now .

I would prefer for them to use the money to build great stories and content, and for myself I like the graphics as they are.

Eh, looks like a random early access MMO on Steam where devs purchased some assets and haphazardly thrown them together, without any regard for cohesion. There are about a million such games on Steam and nobody plays them.

It’s good to have a distinct artistic direction in a game, it makes them stand out from those countless generic games no one ever plays.

From all the videos I think I like the Azuremyst one the most. It looks absolutely stunning. The sheer scale of everything and how absolutely massive the Exodar looks really makes you feel that you’re only a small part of a larger world. The Stormwind-one is also nice. It gives off Warcraft-movie-vibes with the semi-realistic-style.

An HD-update to all the old zones is long overdue though. Elwynn, Durotar, the Barrens
all of them look incredibly outdated nowadays. Especially the buildings.

I’m imagining it and I don’t like it.

Use the money to right story, content, quest.
Use it on level design
Use it to re-hire true GM to fight bots, not just some automated stuff.

If you got money left, you can spend it on graphics, but honestly i don’t really care.

Maybe for when Cloud gaming becomes viable. If that ever happens. What PC you have won’t matter as much then.

I like WOWS cartoony graphics though to be honest.

100% agree, also think that is why WoW have so many subcribers.

Doesn’t mean I’d want to play like that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

And here I am trying to lower my setting enough to hit 10 fps in Spires of Ascension or Daddynathrius fight so I can play at a basic level.

Fancier graphics, same old game.

^ For starters

The ones in unreal engine looks like the usual generic & stereotypical MMO, removed all the charm the game have

I don’t want to be toxic but those videos are cool and all but none of them feel and look like wow to me
they can create new game and let wow art style alone
