as the title suggests, I’d like to know if the Unseen Path is still a thing in RP? I’ve been playing through Legion a bit while waiting for patch 8.3 and found the concept of the order very appealing for hunter rp.
If there is a newer (as in not in the old forums and almost 2 years old) thread on this topic I didn’t find, just redirect me there please.
Yes indeed it is. The Unseen Path is an order of hunters, archers, rangers, beast masters, and trappers. It was founded on the Broken Isles by Namuria Gladesong after the War of the Ancients, and was blessed by the eagle spirit Ohn’ahra.
If you take the Unseen Path’s oath: “We do not fight for glory, for fame, or riches. We exist to protect those who need it most, often without reward or recognition. We are the watchers in the wild. We are the eagle on the wind. We walk the lonely road. For ours is the Unseen Path.” - now that actually opens up a lot of possible rp situations.
I could think of more traditional tasks for hunters like tracking down dangerous creatures that torment villagers, or train hunter pets with the Zandalari for example, or assist as scouts for various types of expeditions (treasure hunting, rescue operations etc.). Also pathfinding or survival missions would be possible.
As long as it remains true to the oath, at least I do see a lot of opportunities for hunter themed rp.
A few months ago I did propose the idea of having a Monster Hunter guild that had similar ideas and concepts to this. Sadly it didn’t really pick up steam so I scrapped the idea, but if Unseen Path RP or even a Hunter’s guild comes up I would be very interested in joining.
It is purely a vanity tag I picked up before Legion hit.
I ran two events in like 2015 that did a similar thing. I called them The Great Hunt’s and just featured like variations of creatures in a specific region.
I did have a bit of an itch to maybe try it again.
Guild wise, I know it doesn’t really stick to people, or doesn’t Horde side at least. There have been many Alliance side, but a lot of them end up being way too Witcher inspired than Nessingwary inspired.
