Right so, ever since 11.2 my FPS has been really unstable It’s absolutely fine for maybe 45 min to a hr of playing.
But after that it starts to drop to an unplayable state, a relog usually clears it up for another 45 minutes.
But having to do so constantly is getting really annoying it’s almost like there is an overheating issue or a memory leak.
But checking my temps and ram usage it’s all normal no drops in speed nothing I have tried no add-ons a clean wow install different GFX settings.
Done multiple stress tests to see if there is any stability issues, but it’s all fine I have tried reinstalling my drivers even done an windows refresh install I have 0 problems in any other game.
It’s only WoW acting up and it’s driving me insane dose anyone have any idea what might be causing these issues it feels like i have tried just about everything i have a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU and a RX 6950 XT GPU
I’m having the same issue - I do feel like it’s ElvUI causing mine but only been an issue since 11.2 so doubtful about this. I adapted my graphics settings and that seemed to improve it but I’ve never had fps drops so bad until this patch
Yeah, problem is it still happens with all add-ons turned off for me it’s like there is some sort of spell effect or something in the latest patch that just tanks fps like crazy
Hmm I feel like they changed something with spell density? It seems to happen for me when there is a lot going on such as in a raid or fighting enemies in a delve
Maybe thing is it still happens regardless of GFX settings also knowing blizz I will just need to wait and hope it solves in self unless someone from the community knows how to fix it or at least where to start looking
I have the exact same problem. Mine occured since patch 11.3, but was still somewhat visible in patch 11.2. But at the coming of patch 11.3, i have severe FPS stutter / spike dops which i cannot seem to figure out what causes it.
I am sitting on a 12700k Intel, 4070 Nvidia and 32 gb og ram with m2 HDD’s.
I have done a complete reinstall of wow and addons, and this seems to work for a few days, then it begins to rapidly increase on occurance again.
Doing dungeons and raids causes the issue and im normally around 150-200 FPS and then it just spikes out dropping to like 40-50. The major spikes makes the game difficult to play on high M+ keys!
I have tried lowering all graphics settings to low or disabled, but nothing seems to help.
Also tried clearing Vchar and delete WTF/cache folders. Tried uncheck “Optional GPU Features” as some have said this might help.
I have tried EVERYTHING, but the problem persist. Blizzard, get this sorted!
If anyone have a great tip, please let me know. If you havent yourself seen the problem firsthanded, please dont provide any tips.
Yeah, I have noticed this too, hell I kept it on essential as a personal preference not so much due to fps before the issues started.
As I prefer to not have a rave going on during raids and what not, the only difference I have noticed is you don’t see the lust/hero icon over the players heads when someone else uses it.
Everything else shows just like normal so apparently according to blizzard 99% of spell effects are “essential” It’s not just a clown is a whole circus
Until then, you can use /console set spellVisualDensityFilterSetting 1 and to revert the command you can use /console set spellVisualDensityFilterSetting 4

Even using the consol command to force the setting, the game still starts chugging fps after 45 min to 1hr of play ugh blizzard please
It’s still happening as of editing still no word form blizzard I have tried just about everything as well ugh
