Is there like a weekly cap on these items or is it RNG?

Pretty sure the drop rate was just nerfed. On the first 2 days of the patch those were dropping like candy alongside gear tokens and 1000 elemental overflow per rare. Now they are super rare, tokens drop more rarely and rares only drop 500 elemental overflow. Guess we were getting too much of the good stuff.

You still get the same overflow, only difference being tha 500 overflow is awarded for completing ‘The bonus objective’ for killing a rare, and another 500-600 for looting it.
For the tokens, I didn’t notice a reduce tbh, I still get 1 token per 2 / 3 rares.
And for forbidden knowledge, I noticed a reduce aswell. I got like 20 in the first 2 days, now i hardly get 2 per day while killing all rares minus the proffesion ones.
Yeah on the first day I killed all the rares and opened some treasures on my warlock and got 11 forbidden knowledge, yesterday I killed all the rares on my hunter and got 0 and today I killed again all the rares on my hunter and got 2. My warlock has the full forbidden reach transmog set already and still has 20 of those in the bag left over.
Forbidden Knowledge drop chance is a joke. Waste hours trying to get these.
Join a Creche group. I got 5 in an hour.
Get the essence of divination from the centaur in town that gives you a 2 min heads up on rare spawns until reset.
You can hit every single rare and get about 10 in an hour or so

It is totally random, between 12-15% I think / rare
Loot specialist maybe higher
On my Dracthyr I have 20+ surplus
But have alt, who have only one after two frost vault cycle
I did it about 8 times over the weekend…
