Nowadays it’s impossible to find a fair group for HC or Normal dungeons.
For example: "LFM tank, healer and 2 dps for SP HC, eye HR, unwanted res"
I mean, this guy is literally looking for free boost and there’s almost no group which is fair about loot. When I check the LFG channel, the most of them contains “unwanted res”.
Why are people so selfish? Why don’t people understand that everybody’s spending time on dungeon?
Reserving unwanted is stealing. Be respectful to other players’ time that will be spent in that dungeon.
Never seen DPS reserving unwanted items unless they have a tank/healer friend. Doubt a tank/healer would join a run like that. And either way, it’s not my business nor is it yours.
Just don’t join it kekw what’s so hard about that? I don’t, on neither of my chars, and I can find groups just fine.
No, it’s not.
People join out of free will and loot rules are agreed on beforehand. I really don’t see the problem with this.
Complaining about what other people do that does not involve you in any way whatsoever, and you’re calling them selfish, good one buddy.
I just never join groups like that. And if i really need the dungeron i just make my own group and tell the “i do X for Y” whispers with “F off” or something in that sentiment.
Back in P1 we didnt do the HR and unwanted items are mine thing but just ignored people whispering who were possibly rolling on items we needed. But then there was more demand for heroics, now there is like none and people get away with it. Just dont join them honestly.
He raises an important point that many Tanks (and some healers) have adopted the habit of reserving unwanted items, and that is basically unfair and selfish because they’re taking the fair share out of the group to their own. The group will never be complete without each component present, the Tank, the Heal, and DPS, each one is required, and the spec / role by no means dictates who is entitled to more bhooty in a dungeon run.
The real problem is, men are weak, and they easily submit to such jerks who stipulate these selfish rules, and thus this has become a common habit.
There is no problem. If you don’t like some group’s loot rules then you don’t join them it’s simple as pie.
Or even better, make your own group.
I don’t deal with the reserved crap and I’ve always found a group. Maybe the time you spent complaining should’ve been spent on creating your own group or finding one without reserve.
not realy if you got 10 players 1 play tank 1 play heal and 7 play DPS and you got 1 tank slot 1 heal and 3 dps slots , try to gease who is in position to make demands and who isnt ?
It’s greedy people with no morals taking advantage of casual/new/lazy players. Same with the people that put stuff on the AH for like 1000g and try to scam. Personally don’t see the point in joining a run like that, even if you only want badges or a quest or whatever. Since they are stealing gold from you, it’s like you’re paying for a boost in a sense. So those runs would only make sense if you could afk at the entrance while they do all the work.
usually it’s a tank saying that and if theyre really geared then i dont mind. they’re providing a tanking service.
if its someone who needs stuff from there on the other hand, i dont see why anyone would join his group, especially as he’s a dps which takes 10seconds to find whereas a tank/healer takes 50x longer
The incentive comes directly from Blizzard with LFD. If there is a shortage of tank, healer or dps (lol) the respective role gets a chest with some rewards in it. Started with WOTLK? could´ve also been in cata.
started at the end of wotlk, that chest still was not enough, ever, to tempt me into tanking for a random group while i had guildies around (but sure was nice once my friends stopped playing and i was left to make my way alone in pug hell)
I´m strictly against anything reserved in current TBC. Never have done anything with stuff reserved and never will, but those chests can contain mounts and that is very tempting.^^
