That’s only after it fades. I need to know if I have to commit more when it’s up, not after they’ve died.
How would that help me when I have enemies targeted most of the time? I don’t target people to heal them, I have used mouseover macros for healing since almost 2 decades back.
Yes, I do. I can’t heal someone past a 1 shot but I can pw: shield them, premonition shield or guardian spirit them if they don’t have defensives to survive on their own.
Don’t worry, in that content you really don’t need addons. For TW just klick on the players portraits on your left and for LFR even the standard UI grid will do.
Or just play disc and use your Radiance when charges are available or play mistweaver; no need to even target the people you want to heal; heal goes to them automatically.
Worked perfectly for me since I started playing at the end of TBC.
It’s how the game means you to heal: with the tools available from the base UI. It souldn’t expect you to see stuff that can’t be easily seen with the base UI. However, ppl using all kinds of addons forced the devs to come up with more and more challenging fights and mechanics. Once they’ve purged the addons, they can go back to designing easier fights where the base UI will be perfectly enough to play with - and we people who never used complicated addons will have more fun again while playing.
Of the 4 people I know well in RL who play WoW, only I use a few addons, the rest uses none. It will be similar in other casual player circles. Casuals don’t have the patience to tend to addons after every new patch, dowloading new versions and adjusting settings. They just want to log in and play whenever they find the time to play a bit - not waste that time with maintaining third party tools.
The top 10% of players is 3k and you can guarantee they all use them. Yet millions upon millions are downloading these addons. There’s probably like 6 million people playing WoW retail tops. There aren’t millions and millions of 3k+ players.
Ergo casuals have to be using these addons also. Not just more hardcore players. You guys just can’t be bothered
In the settings, you can change the 5 player portrait layout into raid frames and move them anywhere you want, it’s been like that since I joined the game which was mid-Legion.
I already have them on the smallest size and they are still too big for my taste, blocking too much of the screen; and if I have to enter edit mode to move them, that’s not useful; I like to move the frame in the middle of the fight to see better, so sadly I’m stuck with Grid2 there.
As healer i just use mouse over macro’s i stopped using vuhdo like years ago, i see no reason why they should remove vuhdo, if Blizzard is removing addons they making a huge mistake it will kill the game for many, if you do not like addons don’t use them, do not force your ideals onto others.
xD yeah, well, that’s the problem, isn’t it? Those using addons are forcing blizz to change the game because of it. I prefer to play my game without the influence of addons, but can no longer do that as easily because of others who do.
I agree this is a problem, depending on what you like. I would expect Disc, Fistweaver, and possibly Paladin to do this. They can be fun tools to use to cause healing, but what really makes them suck is the fact that they cost no mana, so now you’re really letting your team down if you’re not casting something every single GCD, which isn’t fun for most healers. Or really in general.
This applies to a good chunk of classes in the game, though healers are more at risk due to having both damage and healing abilities.
WoW does have built in mouse over support. It may not be as good as VuhDo, but it’ll do perfectly fine if you lost a little bit of rotational busywork. Not too worried about this actually.
I think the latter is where the best solution’s at. You can’t addon your way out of some of these problems and if they try they’re just going to make it World of UICraft.
If not able see party cds or what conditions are currently affecting them (dps/defensive cds) it also becomes pointless to heal this game in end game as m+/PvP, these are tracked via combat log for addons and tanks and mostly heals pay constant eye on these and rely on having awareness on them or we will just overlap everything and use things in waste and die later.
Dps main interest for addons might be dps meters but for healers its addons that show which defensives the party has currently pressed or left, so they play their game around that if they are not in comms and speak it. Remove being able to see this and nobody will care play with pugs or in soloqs. Nobody cares go in voice with ppl you will play for 2 minutes and never see again. These dont show on default party frames and the game is 21 years old, I have zero faith they would show in future either without addons.
I have seen the results in other games once they started ban addons that were missing from default functions, result always were that they lost vast amount players, on wows case it will be healers. Any dps that dont have team yet they mostly play with, will also be affected from this on a degree that it will become even harder for you to find heal or tanks for whatever the content.
