Upcoming azerite power changes

The coming changes will make azerite power much more pleasant to deal with, however I think the system is inherently flawed.

Currently the amount needed is reduced by 30% every week (except for the few weeks at the end of a raid tier when they arbitrarily chose to pause it)
This makes people feel like they lose hard earned progress, thus demotivating people from farming it.

However if you wish to be competitive with the others in your guild you are required to keep the grind up.
There is no quicker way to burn out on a game then to continually do something you do not want to do.
In legion you increased what you got instead of reducing what you needed. This caused a less severe apathetic feeling, but it was still an issue there.

When you can play 100 hours this week to get azerite power or wait three weeks and only need to play 35 hours to get the same necklece level, people will get demotivated.
The system would be much more healthy if you had a weekly cap for azerite power similar to conquest cap, While at the start of each raid tier you bring everyone up close to where the cap is.

On the content front I find it really hard to muster the will to play to keep up my necklace with my guild.
Personally despise world quests and islands, I find them both mindless and boring, islands especially so because they all feel the same.
I find m+ tolerable but not enjoyable, I did allot of them in Legion and have done quite a few in BFA.
I think dungeon design was a better in legion, there is now a bit too much trash.
I also think m+ would be more fun if tyrannical and fortified were removed while bosses get a small buff because baseline they feel weak compared to trash.
The reason I think these modes should be removed is because boss fights feel boring and too long on tyrannical while trivial on fortified.
I also feel the highest rewards are not good enough while the brake point for the highest ilvl gear is way too low.
This culminates in mostly doing an easy +11-14 once a week just to get my weekly chest.
If the ilvl cap from m+ was the same as mythic raiding -5 instead of -15 it would not feel pointless on the item front.

It would feel allot better to grind raids and dungeons aiming for a bis set rather than to be on an endless treadmill hoping to luck out on a titanforge and getting azerite power that will effectively be removed over a few weeks.

I like raiding, but I do not like being pressured to do content I do not like because I am expected to be neck level x before the release of the next raid. (IE, you have to have concordance X or you have to have neck level 38 such that you can use the new items you get)

I encourage everyone here to please share what you think about the current systems and the upcoming changes.

I would love for them to ditch the AP grind, I don’t think it’s a good addition to the game. It makes people feel they have to log in to do tasks they don’t really want to do or fall behind.

I don’t seem to remember struggling to find things to do in game before we had a weapon or neck to constantly farm for.

Tyrannical and Fortified really offer absolutely nothing to the table. The M+ level already has a numerical modifier tied to it anyway. Adding a secondary only serves to create stupid scenarios like teeming/fortified and skyrocket specific packs beyond the realm of being possible, only further increasing the value of rogues and skipping mechanisms in general while taking too big a toll on the usefulness of everyone else.

We had more reputations… Remember Pandaria? All reputation exalted? now grind the tillers, each one of them :stuck_out_tongue: or TBC puts a tabard on and have fun.
Now Reputation rewards are spread all over, and they give you 75 rep for 4/5 quests if your side of the island. Emissary 1500 thank you very much and you’re done your rep for the day.

WotLK.

TBC had specific reputation for each dungeon. More akin to acquiring Argent Dawn rep in Vanilla.

I don’t really see the reputation grind any different. We had limited numbers of daily quests in Pandaria. It was exhausting to do all the faction dailies to start with but it get less over time.

I enjoyed doing all the Tillers best friend thing as it unlocked items for my farm, I loved that place.

Indeed.

I think even with the artifacts, it was kinda boring, and it doesn’t help that it really affects your gameplay.

There are numerous ways to get Azerite, I have gotten most of my levels from regular questing, emissaries, and the mission table. I have only did the 5 required island expeditions and my necklace is at level 390. With all of the higher level gear that is being given out, a person can easily level up enough to be ready for their guild.
