Upcoming class tuning

Why is it that every time there’s a class tuning update they make such huge drastic changes. For example Fire mage ignite damage reduced by 20%, living bomb is nerfed by 162%!!! And many more 20%-30%decrease/increasse changes.
Why so few changes and so drastic. Now everyone who plays mage is going to reroll to frost mage because they got the huge dmg increases. Make more updates and make the value threshold somewhere around 5% especially if all abilities are targeted. It makes specs completely unplayable and the rest dominate the rosters. Yet Ele shaman is not getting any significant nerf in PvP…

Never got behinds Blizzard tuning comming with the sledgehammer somethimes hitting stuff thats doing ok with -30% overall sending the specc in the dumbster
or if a specc is clearly op the hole latter is full with DH or that Ret poccolypse they go in way too late and are like a we hit this useless ability with -1% damage should be fine ggs

The list of relevant nerfs (+ pvp buff on LB) :

  • Lava Burst damage reduced by 25%.
  • Elemental Blast damage reduced by 25%.
  • Flame Shock damage reduced by 15%.
  • Splintered Elements now grants 10% Haste (was 20%).
  • Additional Lava Bursts from Primordial Wave now deal 50% of normal damage (was 80%).
  • Surge of Power’s Lava Burst benefit is now a 4 second cooldown reduction to elementals (was 6 seconds).
  • Fixed an issue causing Lava Surge’s chance to trigger to increase when Searing Flames is talented.
  • Totem of Wrath now increases critical strike damage and healing by 15% (was 20%).
  • Lava Burst damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
  • Volcanic Surge now increases Lava Burst damage by 30% (was 45%).
  • Fixed an issue that caused Earth Shield stacks to be consumed one at a time when purging its effect.

The other changes are meaningless fluff.

I think the end result is something around a 33% nerf for Ele compared to first prepatch, possibly even more.
Any reasonable person would call that significant.

Living bomb had to be done something to it eventually, i witnessed teams of ppl just explode away in seconds on proper conditions. There was even youtube videos of people just trying find the most biggest living bombs. Even vs one target it was massive if it was demo lock example you would do 500k dps on him 1v1 which I found just silly but fire being otherwise so paper that didnt much care of fire in the end. Im glad that living bomb is nerfed but i hope its not overnerfed ofc

Yep! Happened on the rounds I’ve played last week. People would simply explode away, and we’d all be like wat?!

people saying its my fault fire was gutted

in tww beta months ago i said that the dmg nerf will be bad, because its just the wrong approach, they shouldve worked around how lit fuse interact with large packs

what we got instead is lit fuse being worthless unles u get multiple procs of it always in aoe

like they intended living bomb to be viable on 1 target, but now its going for like 20k dmg, idk if its before the nerf even happens

they should have put some “reduced dmg beyond x target” maybe… or maybe it ruins the m+ experience, i have no idea, it doesn’t bother me too much, but it feels like a not well thought class design, into a not well thought nerf
which is what wow feels very often…

They should just give us the old living bomb ability.

im okay with both, but its pretty clear that it goes from useless to busted pretty easily

For good of game this fast paced meta need to go away, and game need to take mid pace stance. So swaping game to mid meta is something which must be done.

Fast paced gameplay is just very low skill and cheap gameplay with high luck factor where better do not win, Fast meta is just not quality of gameplay worth of E-Sport

i hate slow meta
HATE IT.
i could adapt to it, but id much rather havea fast paced like we had some seasons

The game has to turn towards a fast paced game like it was in SL S1, maybe even faster than that season. PvP’ers wants a game that is fast and fun and not an exhausting 10 min boring fight.

I find that ppl asking for slow games are generally gonna be lower experienced players that have a difficult time reacting to situations and therefore need more time to process/take action.

Fast paced is way higher skill than slow paced. You need to think quick about your own actions, and the actions of your enemies. If you move into a bad position, or use your cds badly, you should be able to get exploited. In a slower game that just isn’t possible.

If you like slow, go play online chess or poker.

Cause ive seen in arena a 700k dps from a single mage with these spells
I have a screenshot about it, but i cant post here

Stuff needs to die, else it is not fun. I don’t wanna massage my target for 30 minutes before actually doing meaningful dmg.

Since i am a healer i like having to heal high preassure but also healing it with high heal output, currently in beta it looks like there is strong healing output but no damage at all. Healers can and should have strong heals but only when there is also an according damage output from dps classes.

There are already enough defensive cooldowns on so many classes allround the 1-2 minute mark, so why have damage low at all is what i am really asking myself.

fast vs slow
feel like it should be reflexes and foresight vs strategy and adapting

but w/e i see a dampening 10 minute pillar hugging till 0 mana kiting game that favour some classes
or pressure beat cooldown trading and burst … its so boring…

this is what i mean when i post a clip that fire 1shot 1 player from full to 0 in 1 second in bg
with berserking
and saltwater
maybe even bl
thats a solid 60% more dmg AT LEAST
so ppl would want a combustion burst
with meteor, into 2 no global fireblasts, litfuse proc exploding, and flamestrike to do only 40% of someones hp or less, without him walling ?
1shotting as a mage with consumables has ALWAYS been in the game, and not just as a mage, any class can pull it off, rightfully, because if u cannot 1shot with 60% buff, nothing would ever die from a normal fight with no modifiers for ages, who the hell enjoys that… affly locks and sp?

even when i paly SP i feel like when i go into void eruption and start pumping i want ppl to drop hp faster than that, UNLESS they get healed through or use defensives, which is what the game is supposed to be like
any game that becoems a mana fight looks extremely boring, and its already like this very often

look at rbg soloq, teamfights are almost always a waste of time, doesn’t matter if u get zerg, doesn’t with bl, u cannot end a teamfight, before objectives need to be capped, unless the entire team burst rly hard…

in deepwind gorge rbg soloq, market is often a constant teamfight, and the more it drags, the more it looks better to gjust skip the fight and go cap smth else, which is what most good players do, because the fight is endless

i feel like the game should generally end on the second set of big offensive cooldowns. People should be able to survive with own + healer deff cds on the first go while the cds of those is higher than the off cds.
Of course this is highly class dependant since cooldowns have different durations and cc is also part of offense/defense.
Imo, 3-4mins is a nice duration of a match:

  • Small 1-1.5min off/deff cds can be used 3-4 times and should be traded early
  • Big 3min off/deff cds can be used once or twice
  • Huge deff cds like bubble, swap, iceblock can be used only once

I feel like this is the healthy middle ground in terms of duration.

what

6 char

Is is that bad? Yesterday I watched whaazz and felt like the dmg was pretty strong compared to what people say.

And not speaking about broken class but multiple different spec.

So far from what I’ve seen, both war/ret/destru lock /feral looks pretty strong, other stuff I didn’t really see.

Sp could be good but I saw only 1 guy play it and outlaw felt pretty bad but also saw only 1 guy play it.

Got no clue about other stuff

Aslong as pvp is not gonna be a mana battle, im ok with it. Better be fast paced else I get bored real quick I’m afraid.
