Previously it was stated this would end at SL launch, but it has been confirmed it will be unobtainable with the Pre-Patch
Seems logical, since azerite system getting removed.
PvP season ends, so it’s quite natural.
They’ve said it’s due to certain Rank 4 Essences being removed (e.g. Vision of Perfection)
Its not set in stone ‘‘when’’ its unobtainable.
The ‘‘soft’’ removal comes with the end of the PvP season, but if you have the R4 Conflict and Strife you can still farm stuff like R4 Lucid Dreams or R4 Mechagon box essence until SL launch

Hmm, well i guess the vision of perfection that they mentioned is going away because Hertz-Locker was a skill based achievement tuned around BFA gear and stuff i dunno
But i think its just lazy wording on behalf of that GM, they previously stated that only the stuff like Conflict & M+ essences that get invalidated by season 4 of pvp and m+ retiring but that other ones like Lucid or Azshara would be obtainable up until launch.
Tried contacting a GM about this and asking?

Have you read the post I linked? They refer back to their previous statement that it would be going away at Launch.
The achievement Phenomenal Cosmic Power will no longer be obtainable once pre-patch goes live (we previously stated that this would go away once Shadowlands went live).
Yes i know you said that, im just pointing out the previously said that the achievement was going to be soft removed with prepatch and hard removed to legacy/fos with launch.
Yes, cos you can no longer get the necklace and any azerite armor in 9.0, ergo => removal of the azerite system => no point of getting the essences.
Seeing BFA content get locked / removed / undone makes me giddy inside.
It’s like Christmas come early.
