Update Combat Animations (Melee)

I know that animations generally tend to be a second thought when it comes to updates to retail, but for people like me, animations whether they be spells or melee combat really allows me to immerse myself into the gameplay.

With that in mind, I’d love to see some melee combat animations to specific weapon types. For example, using a polearm like an actual polearm, not just as sword with a few extra inches. Swirling, swapping hands, using both ends etc etc. The same goes for daggers. A few flips of the dagger or stabbing in different places.

Think we will ever see these updated? Legion brought a whole host of new animations, but I feel since then there hasn’t been much and they’re beginning to look very dated.

(Don’t even get me started on Monk animations, they deserve a thread of their own).

this is a really good point , i hope they work on animations because some races feel very bad compared to others (female pandaren is THE best one btw) also the idea of weapon type based animations would be great too! (should be tmog type based obv.)

I wish they would update the Blood Elf / Void elf male 2-handed stance… It’s… … . . . . atrocious.

I think having a variety of animation would add a lot to the game, not only from an immersion stand point, but for an excitement to press special abilities too. Too many hit animation feel blend and boring and too many specs as near to no exciting ability to press.

Death from above, Condemn, Fae line, Eye beam, Fel rush, Fan the Hammer (pistol shot proc), Mangoust bite… All those attacks have nice animations and are very nice to press. We need more of those little dopamine dose in our rotations.

I used Melee as example, but i think most ranged need a special impressive impactful spell like Glacial spike.

Yes. That and Male Humans are just awful. The shoulders are sickening!

To be honest, Male Blood/Void Elves suffer in their 1H DW stance as well.
