Honestly don’t care about flying or playing this expansion anymore. Maybe you should just ignore retail and focus on Classic instead?

how long a notice will we get on patch release, i require 4 weeks to book a few days off work to play the patch from the off, but im thinking im not gonna get that 4 weeks notice am i lol.
Just tell us when your intending to release 9.1 so we can plan things to play the game. Dont keep the community waiting, without us you have no game.
I would highly recommend you book for at least 4 days after patch release. Usually on release nothing works.

Imagine me on 7th quest on this boring questchain, looking at the guy I just saved, only to be killed by this NPC, just like that. I was like WTF is going on? Is this real??!!!
Is just me or those stories seriously lack intelligence?
Or this guy who literally grab me from my d!@& and both fly around in water brass style, thus becoming some kind of kinky softporn amusement.
Or this guy who literally send me back, again and again, with no reason whatsoever, just like he forgot something. And then, send me back again, for the “final” one.
At this point my keyboard just suffer a shocking hit.
WHYYYY??? CAN YOU RESPOND TO THAT PLEASE??? WHY IN THE WORLD QUESTS NEED TO BE POSTPONED IN THAT UGLY WAY???

While this is great news in general, for me personally it is too little too late. I have already finished everything in the open world I was interested in. It is like giving me a vacuum cleaner when I have already cleaned the room with a toothpick.
Considering that we will not be able to fly in the Maw and Korthia, this will not be able to incentivize me to play more at this point. I am confused as to why we will remain grounded in these zones when they will be where we shall be spending most of our time in 9.1.
Flying should have been given to us at renown level 40 in my opinion. Still, better late than never I suppose.

The same reason as Argus was. It’s how the zones were built. Not because they don’t want people flying there but it’s because of aesthetically the zones were created. In Argus the problem was the sky/background which gave the illusion of the rest of Argus in the background. The Maw is because of the Torghast tower which again is an illusion. Korthia is dragged into the Maw in 9.1 so that’s true reason why flying there won’t be possible.
Then one would think they would have learned from Argus and not design those zones in a way that makes flying impossible. Even they had acknowledged that making people grounded in the current zones after giving them flying is a bad design, which is why Nazjatar and Mechagon had flying enabled in them.
Even placing some strong death magic winds barrier around the Maw/Korthia would be enough to prevent players from flying too far out of these zones, so this is a non-issue.

Wait, so we need to do the storyline and renown etc and then purchase the riding skill on each character? Wow, thanks Blizz…

I do not like to sound dramatic, but making us have to buy the flight license on each character separately after having made us wait for an entire patch feels like a slap in the face, unless the flying license is an account-wide unlock. This coupled with the fact that we cannot fly in the new zone leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.

I just hope if it is the case, that the price is something sensible and not a ridiculous amount of gold or (perhaps worse) a load of anima, lost souls, Torghast currency, stygia or whatever other silly new currencies they are adding. Wouldn’t surprise me if we needed to buy it with the new Korthia currency…
